High School Hockey Action Heats Up in Cuyahoga County This Holiday Season

Competitive matchups set across local ice arenas from December 17-31


NORTHEAST OHIO — High school hockey teams across Cuyahoga County are preparing for a thrilling stretch of games as the holiday season approaches. From December 17 through December 31, ice arenas across the region will host some of the most anticipated matchups of the winter, offering fans an opportunity to see rising talent on the ice.

Here’s a look at the games set for Cuyahoga County over the next two weeks:


December 20, 2024

  • Padua JV vs. Team Ohio High School
    • Time: 8:10 PM
    • Location: Winterhurst Ice Arena, Lakewood

December 21, 2024

  • Canton Akron JV vs. Team Ohio High School
    • Time: 5:00 PM
    • Location: Winterhurst Ice Arena, Lakewood

December 22, 2024

  • Sylvania Northview vs. Team Ohio High School
    • Time: 10:00 AM
    • Location: Winterhurst Ice Arena, Lakewood

December 27, 2024

  • CVCA Royals vs. Worthington Kilbourne
    • Time: 7:30 PM
    • Location: Dan Kostel Recreation Center, Garfield Heights

December 28, 2024

  • CVCA Royals vs. Aurora
    • Time: 7:30 PM

With games taking place at two iconic ice arenas in Cuyahoga County—Winterhurst Ice Arena in Lakewood and the Dan Kostel Recreation Center in Garfield Heights—hockey fans can expect competitive play and standout performances.

The Winterhurst Ice Arena, known for its deep ties to Northeast Ohio hockey, will feature Team Ohio High School in back-to-back matchups leading into the holidays. Meanwhile, the Dan Kostel Recreation Center will showcase CVCA Royals in a series of games after Christmas, including matchups against Worthington Kilbourne, Aurora, and Avon.
