In a detailed report during the April 10th Macedonia City Council meeting, Building Commissioner Nino Monaco outlined numerous major development projects currently underway in the city, signaling significant economic growth for the community.
“Holiday Inn Express at 200 South Park Drive is going to be a four-story 59,000 square foot building with 99 rooms,” Monaco reported. “This project is ready to break ground within a couple of months.”

Additional developments include Divinity Landing, a three-story 48,000 square foot senior living facility with 54 units. According to the documentation provided, this project is being developed by National Church Residences and will be located near the intersection of Valley View Road and State Route 8, offering one-bedroom apartments for seniors aged 55 and older with various amenities including a community room with warming kitchen, exercise room, and multipurpose room.
Valley Reserve is planned as a residential development between Coblentz Homes and Pulte Homes, which will feature 59 single-family residences. Nordonia Landscaping Supply is constructing a five-unit, 16,000 square foot building at 1325 East Island Road.
Religious facilities are expanding as well, with St. Gregorio Church at 1252 East Aurora Road adding a 5,500 square foot retreat center.
Monaco also shared plans for Knights Inn to undergo significant renovation. “They have two buildings on their lot that they’re going to knock down the one on the west end of it. They’re going to put up a new hotel and when that unit is up then they’re going to tear down the second unit, and we will have one nice hotel there,” he explained.
Peak Nano will occupy a massive 239,000 square foot complex at 8855 Valley View Road on the former Summit Crush Stone location.
To the delight of residents, Monaco concluded his report by announcing that Sloan Ice Cream will be opening soon in Macedonia Commons.
These developments represent a substantial increase in both commercial and residential growth for Macedonia, with projects spanning hospitality, senior living, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
