Vantage Aging celebrates 50 years with Plates with Purpose Fundraiser

Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio (MOWNEO), a program of VANTAGE Aging, has launched “Plates with Purpose,” a fundraiser designed to support seniors in the community. The event, running between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, is part of VANTAGE Aging’s 50th anniversary celebration and replaces their traditional Helping Hands Fall Raffle and Sponsorships.

“In this time of rising food prices and uncertainty about federal funding, your support is crucial,” said Kim Ventresca, CEO of VANTAGE Aging. “For over five decades, MOWNEO has provided ‘more than a meal.’ We’ve delivered safety, connection, compassion, and care to older adults facing hunger and isolation.”

The organization invites community members to participate in several ways: becoming a Plates with Purpose sponsor to gain visibility among thousands of supporters, making direct donations to support their mission, or purchasing a personalized plate to be displayed in their kitchen.

VANTAGE Aging has been promoting successful aging for 50 years through various programs that support independent living with dignity. Beyond Meals on Wheels, they offer job training for low-income adults aged 55 and older through their Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) and connect retired seniors with meaningful volunteer opportunities through RSVP.

Those interested in supporting the initiative can purchase plates and sponsorships online at vantageaging.org/events or contact Anna Clendenin, Development Specialist, at 330-253-4597 ext. 189 or aclendenin@vantageaging.org for more information.
