Police Crack Down on Drug Offenses and Theft in Mentor

Multiple Arrests Made in Series of Enforcement Actions

Cocaine Busts Lead Recent Police Activity

On May 6, officers conducted a traffic stop on US 20 near Lucretia Court resulting in two adult males being arrested for possession of cocaine and falsification. The stop occurred at 11:46 p.m. and was closed by arrest on May 7.

In another cocaine-related case, a male suspect was arrested on May 6 at Center Street and Johnnycake Ridge Road for cocaine trafficking. This arrest stemmed from an investigation initiated by MPD Narcotics on April 22.

Drug Possession Incident at Great Lakes Mall

Police reported finding a suspicious vehicle illegally parked in a handicap spot at Great Lakes Mall on April 30. During the investigation, a male was arrested on drug charges. The case remains under open investigation.

Retail Theft Incidents

An adult male and female were arrested on May 1 for petty theft from Heinens. According to police reports, the suspects had stolen items from the store on April 30 but were not apprehended at that time. When they returned to the store on May 1, the loss prevention officer recognized them and called police, leading to their arrests.

In a separate shoplifting incident, police responded to Meijer on April 30, where a female was placed under arrest for theft of cosmetic items after being detained by store security.

Theft of Auto Parts

On May 1, police responded to Classic Toyota on Tyler Boulevard for a theft in progress. A male was arrested for stealing vehicle tires from the dealership.

Falsification During Traffic Stop

Police conducted a traffic stop on April 30 at 10:49 p.m. on Interstate 90 west of State Route 615, which led to a female driver being arrested for falsification. The investigation revealed she provided false identification information to officers. She was also cited for driving under suspension.

Domestic Violence and Vandalism

Police responded to a domestic violence call on April 30 on Corduroy Road. A warrant was later issued, and the suspect was arrested on May 2.

A disturbance at Cardinal MPark Apartments resulted in a male being arrested for vandalism, assault, and disorderly conduct on April 30. Police responded to the call at 1:05 a.m.
