Child Airlifted, Four Hospitalized After I-480 Rollover in Twinsburg Township

A serious crash on Interstate 480 in Twinsburg Township sent five people to area hospitals Saturday night, including a young child who required emergency air transport. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 10:50 p.m. June 21 to the scene on I-480. A van pulling a trailer left the roadway, spun, and rolled over multiple times. The vehicle had 10 passengers inside at the time of the crash. Multiple Victims Transported Four passengers were taken by ground to University Hospital Portage. A 5-year-old boy was life-flighted to Rainbow Babies Hospital in Cleveland with serious injuries. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-480 were closed while authorities investigated the scene. Investigation Ongoing The crash remains under investigation by the Summit Metro Crash Response Team. No additional details have been released at this time.
