Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro is pleased to announce that Summit County Animal Control has received a generous donation of 10,000 dog collars and leashes from a local small business. Sydney So Sweet, an online clothing retailer based out of Wadsworth, donated their overstocked collars and leashes this week, helping ensure that every dog adopted from Summit County Animal Control can go home with a colorful new collar and leash at no extra cost. The donation will also benefit dogs currently housed in the facility, allowing volunteers and staff to walk and exercise them in their new matching collar and leash sets! In addition to a collar and leash, all adopted dogs receive a microchip, bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal de-worming, spay or neuter, and vaccinations. These services are included in the adoption fee—currently reduced to $28 through the end of June for the “Fetch Your Summer Sidekick” adoption event. Residents can call 330-643-2845 to schedule an appointment or visit the facility during business hours to find their newest furry friend.
