SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio – Effective August 1, 2026, the Summit County Division of Building Standards will assume responsibility for State of Ohio required building code enforcement services for the City of Barberton following approval of an agreement by Barberton City Council on May 26 and Summit County Council on June 29. Under the agreement, Summit County Building Standards will provide plan review, permitting, and inspection services for residential and non-residential construction projects within the City of Barberton.
