Edward S. Lipnos, age 94 of Macedonia, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Edward was born December 31, 1931 to the late to the late Mary and Jerry Shemerl and loving adopted by Louis and Julia Lipnos at age 4. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He also worked for over 40 years for Ohio Bell as a Central Office Technician. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol (nee Champion) Lipnos; loving father of John Lipnos, Edward (Christine) Lipnos Jr., Diane (John) Faltay, and Debra Lipnos; cherished grandfather of Robert, Natalie, and Ryan Lipnos, and Stephen and John Faltay; and a dear brother of Eleanor Belote, Louis “Buddy” Lipnos, and the late Alice Martincic, Jerry Shemerl, Mary Gratcar, Jean Meltko, and Nancy Kish. Our hearts are heavy as we share the passing of our beloved father, a man whose kindness shaped every life he touched, but none more than us four kids and five grandkids. He lived gently, gave generously, and loved with a sincerity that left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Dad had a gift for finding joy in the world and sharing it freely. Every year, we looked forward to the talent show while camping, where his famous bird calls joke stole the spotlight. With a twinkle in his pale blue eyes and a grin he couldn’t hide, he’d fill the room with laughter. Dad had the best sense of humor and laughter came easy. Those moments weren’t just funny or charming – they were pure expressions of his playful spirit and his ability to make ordinary days feel magical. He was also a gentleman in the truest sense. He never left home without two of his gentleman handkerchiefs, neatly folded and ready for whatever life brought his way. Always two, “one for show and one for blow” he would say with a smile. It was a small habit, but it said everything about him – thoughtful, prepared, and always looking out for others. Whether offering it to someone in need or using it to wipe a grandchild’s nose, that handkerchief became a symbol of his quiet, steadfast care. Dad was our protector, our teacher, and our friend. He listened deeply, loved unconditionally, and showed us that kindness is not an act but a way of living. His legacy lives on in the compassion he taught us, the laughter he sparked, and the gentle strength he carried through every season of his life. We will miss him more than words can hold, but we will honor him always – in the way we treat others, in the way we choose joy, and in the way we remember his bird calls echoing through the room and his 2 handkerchiefs tucked neatly in his pocket. Dad, thank you for loving us so well. Your light remains with us. We love you. Services and burial at All Saints Cemetery will be held privately.
