The City of Stow announced that the Christmas Box Angel of Hope Children's Memorial at Silver Springs Cemetery will undergo a refurbishment starting July 27. The project aims to preserve and enhance the memorial for families and the community. Preservation of Memorial Bricks Crews will carefully remove the memorial bricks and reinstall them in their original locations on a new concrete base. City officials say the update will help ensure the bricks remain stable and protected for years to come. Landscaping and Accessibility Upgrades Additional improvements planned for the site include: New landscaping throughout the memorial area New sidewalks on the east and west sides of the memorial to improve accessibility The memorial is located at Silver Springs Cemetery on Stow Road. It serves as a place where families come to honor and remember children who have touched their lives. Temporary Closure Expected The refurbishment is expected to take three to four weeks. During construction, the memorial area will be temporarily inaccessible to visitors. City officials are asking families and the community for patience while the improvements are completed. Stow leaders say the project reflects an ongoing commitment to maintaining a meaningful and welcoming space for reflection.
