Hudson Police Respond to Fraud, Break Ins and Welfare Checks Over Two Weeks

The Hudson Police Department responded to a wide variety of calls between July 7 and July 20. Reports ranged from fraud and property crimes to welfare checks and noise complaints. The department did not report any arrests connected to the incidents below. Fraud Reports Officers documented four fraud cases during the two week period. A report was taken on Stow Road for fraudulent charges. An Atterbury Boulevard resident also filed a fraud report. Police were dispatched to the station lobby on Weymouth Drive for a fraud complaint. A Georgetown Road resident reported that an unknown person had tried to purchase tires using someone else’s email. Breaking and Entering An unknown female entered an unoccupied business on Corporate Drive through an unsecured door. A report was also taken on Stokes Lane for a possible criminal trespass. Officers responded to the former JoAnn Stores Distribution Center on Darrow Road for a breaking and entering report. Theft Reports A theft report was taken on Maple Drive. Police were also dispatched to a Beckwith Drive residence after a garage sale toy cash register used to collect money was taken. Property and Property Damage Multiple property calls came in over the two weeks. An officer took a report for found property near Streetsboro Street and Nicholson Drive. Police responded to a Danbury Lane residence for an electric scooter left behind from a party. A firearm reported as property along Stow Road near the railroad tracks was later picked up by its owner without incident. Reports were also taken for property on Stoney Hill Drive and found property on Streetsboro Street. A Wilshire Park Drive residence reported property damage, as did an Akron resident involved in an incident on Route 8. Officers located a mobility scooter near Acme Plaza. Domestic Situations Officers responded to four domestic calls. A Bradford Way residence reported a domestic disturbance. Police were dispatched to the Barlow Community Center for a domestic situation. A Nicholson Drive residence reported a verbal domestic dispute. Officers were also dispatched to a medical facility for a possible domestic incident in progress. Welfare Checks and Mental Health Calls Hudson Police handled several welfare and mental health related calls. Officers verified the wellbeing of a 14 year old girl at her grandmother’s home. Police responded to the area of Darrow Road and Barlow Road, and separately to Abner Lane, for welfare checks. Officers assisted a 23 year old man on Norton Road who was having a crisis related to mental and physical disabilities. Additional welfare checks were conducted on Woodyard Road and at Hudson Elms. Police and EMS also responded to Hudson Elms for a psychiatric situation, and officers responded to a Heritage Court residence for a family member experiencing a mental health crisis. Missing and Juvenile Complaints Officers responded to the area of Division Street for a missing juvenile. A resident also reported a lost juvenile on a bike who knocked on their door for help. Police located a 16 year old Hudson resident during a traffic complaint. A parent was notified in that case. Sudden Deaths Officers were dispatched to a Valley View Road residence for a sudden death. A separate sudden death report was taken on Streetsboro Street. Suspicious Activity Police responded to several suspicious activity calls. Officers checked a suspicious vehicle at Circle K on Darrow Road. Reports also came from Longfellow Lane, a Darrow Road business and the area of Stow Road and Ravenna Street. Police responded to a Holyoke Avenue residence and conducted a security check at a Firelands Drive residence after separate reports. Vehicle and Traffic Incidents Officers assisted the State Highway Patrol at Darrow Road and Terex Road. Police assisted the Summit County Sheriff’s Office with a disabled vehicle on I480 West. Officers also responded to disabled vehicles on Route 8 North near Seasons Road and on North Main Street. A driver was stopped on Terex Road for a speed violation and found to have a cancelled license. Hudson police and fire assisted Boston Heights Police with a crash on Route 8 Northbound. Officers responded to a traffic hazard near Deer Hollow Drive and Doug Avenue. Noise Complaints Noise complaints came from across the city. A resident on Atterbury Boulevard complained about loud music. Fireworks were reported near Woodbridge Road, near Stonecreek Way and in the area of Ogilby Drive. Additional noise complaints came from Weston Drive, Deer Hollow, College Street and Fox Trace Lane. Officers were unable to identify suspects connected to the fireworks reports. Animal Complaints Officers responded to a barking dog on Exline Circle. A sick raccoon was reported on Willow Lake Drive, and a second sick raccoon report came from Ravenna Street. Police also responded to an animal complaint at a Middleton Road country club, a loose dog on Middleton Road, an animal complaint on Tyre Drive and
