Theft and Property Incidents Newspaper Taken from Mailbox – Colony Drive Nov. 14, 4:27 p.m. – An officer responded to a Colony Drive residence for a report that a newspaper was stolen from a residential mailbox . Found Cash in Park – Barlow Road Area Nov. 14, 1:22 p.m. – A complainant brought currency found in a park near Barlow Road to the Hudson Police Department . The money was turned in as found property . Credit Card Found at Hudson Springs Park – Stow Road Nov. 15, 10:15 a.m. – A credit card located at Hudson Springs Park off Stow Road was turned in to police and documented as found property . Damaged Street Sign – Darrow Road Nov. 16, 3:29 a.m. – An officer located a damaged street sign in the Darrow Road area , documenting the incident as property damage . Fraud, Scams and Identity Theft Fraudulent Business Checks – Hudson Crossing Parkway Nov. 11, 9:08 a.m. – A business on Hudson Crossing Parkway reported that fraudulent checks were created and attempts were made to cash them . Crypto Scam Posing as Acquaintance – Ravenna Street Area Nov. 16, evening – A victim reported that between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1 , someone pretending to be an acquaintance contacted them and asked for money via a cryptocurrency app . The incident was documented as fraud in the Ravenna Street area . Gift Card Funds Stolen – Red Maple Drive Nov. 13, 12:50 p.m. – Police took a report on theft of gift card funds from a resident on Red Maple Drive . Identity Theft – Canterbury Drive (Two Separate Calls) Nov. 11, 8:09 p.m. – Officers responded to Canterbury Drive for a report of identity fraud . Nov. 12, 8:40 p.m. – Police again responded to a Canterbury Drive address for a welfare check requested by a family member. The person checked okay. Attempted Identity Fraud at Financial Institution – West Streetsboro Street Nov. 14, 11:14 a.m. – Officers were called to a financial institution on West Streetsboro Street for an attempted identity fraud report. OVI Near Triple the Legal Limit OVI Arrest – Terex Road / Bridgewater Area Nov. 17, 9:10 p.m. – Officers stopped a 61-year-old man from Akron for a moving violation in the Terex Road and Bridgewater area . Police reported the driver showed signs of impairment and was asked to perform field sobriety tests , which he performed poorly . He was arrested for OVI , and his vehicle was impounded . According to the report, he submitted to a breath test and registered nearly three times the legal limit . He was given a court date and released on a signature bond . Domestic, Mental Health and Welfare Checks Domestic Situation – Cheshire Road Nov. 11, 10:38 p.m. – Officers responded to a Cheshire Road residence for a domestic situation . Nov. 16, 11:21 a.m. – Police responded to a Hines Hill Road residence for an alarm drop which was resolved without criminal findings. Noise, Gunshot and Suspicious Activity Calls Gunshot Reports and Noise Complaints – Seasons Road Area Nov. 11, 6:04 p.m. – Officers checked the Seasons Road area after a caller reported hearing gunshots . No source was located. Nov. 16, 5:03 p.m. – Officers responded to the Sullivan Road and Seasons Road area on another gunshot report , documenting the call as a special detail . Nov. 17, 7:10 p.m. – Police responded to the 500 block of Seasons Road for a noise complaint . Nov. 18, 6:40 p.m. – Officers were again dispatched to Seasons Road for another noise complaint . Suspicious Activity and Noises – Residential Areas Nov. 14, 2:38 p.m. – A business on Hudson Crossing Parkway reported suspicious activity involving a recently terminated employee suspected of smoking marijuana in the parking lot . Nov. 16, 9:43 p.m. – Officers responded to Cutler Lane for a suspicious noise ; the area was checked but the cause was unknown. Nov. 17, 2:16 p.m. – A Sunset Drive resident reported suspicious activity in their yard . Possible Menacing by Stalking – Silverberry Lane Nov. 18, 7:49 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Silverberry Lane for a report of possible menacing by stalking . Fire, Traffic and School-Related Incidents Chimney Fire – Barlow Road Nov. 11, 7:24 p.m. – An officer responded to a chimney fire at a Barlow Road residence . All occupants were confirmed out of the home , and Hudson Fire arrived shortly after to bring the fire under control
