Hudson Police Log Fraud Reports, Assault and Sudden Death in Early August

The Hudson Police Department released its incident report for the week of July 28 through August 3. Officers responded to calls covering theft, fraud, welfare checks, animal complaints and a sudden death. The following is a summary of incidents by category. Theft and Fraud A business owner on Stone Road reported a theft on July 30. Two separate fraud reports were also filed during the week. One came from a resident on Lascala Drive on July 29. The second was reported in the police department lobby on July 30. Assault and Domestic Incidents Officers took a domestic situation report on East Highgate Court on July 29. On August 1, officers responded to the Danbury Senior Living Center on Omni Lake Parkway for a report of an assault between two residents. A second domestic situation was reported at the Circle K on Darrow Road on August 2. Welfare and Mental Health Checks Hudson police conducted several welfare and mental health checks during the week. A welfare check was requested on Stow Road on July 29. That same day, officers were called to Omni Lake Parkway for a fight that had occurred earlier between two residents. On the evening of August 3, officers checked the welfare of four minor children at their mother's home at the request of their father. Later that day, a welfare check was conducted on an Aurora woman seen walking along Darrow Road near Christine Drive. She was given a courtesy transport to Streetsboro. Officers also responded to a Haymarket Way residence with Hudson EMS for a report of a female having a mental issue. Property Lost and Found Several property reports were filed throughout the week. Residents reported lost property on Brentwood Drive and Prescott Drive on July 30. Found property was reported at the police department on Abbyshire Drive on July 31. A debit card was located in the police department report room on August 1. A wallet turned in on Boston Mills Road the same day was returned to its owner. Found property was again reported at the station on August 2. Suspicious Activity and Security Checks An unknown person rang a doorbell on Herrick Park Drive and fled the area on July 28. Officers found unlocked doors during area checks on Darrow Road on July 30 and at Keltec Inc. on Hudson Industrial Parkway on August 1. Suspicious activity was reported on Regal Woods Drive and Bard Drive on August 2, prompting officers to check both properties. Animal Complaints A Hudson resident brought a microchipped dog he found in his yard to the police department on July 28. The owner was located and picked up the dog. A barking dog complaint was reported on Winterberry Drive on July 31. On August 1, a dog bit a victim on Meadow Farm Drive, causing visible injury. Traffic and Public Safety Officers located a disabled vehicle that had run out of gas on West Streetsboro Street on August 1. On July 31, officers responded to Panera Bread on West Streetsboro Street for a report of a female with a warrant. A solicitor from EcoShield Pest Solutions was found without a permit on Stow Road on August 3 and told to stop until one is obtained. A 30 year old Akron man was cited on Hudson Drive on August 3 after being stopped for a moving violation. He did not have a valid license, and his vehicle was impounded. Hudson police also assisted Stow police and fire on August 1 near Stow Road and Norton Road. Sudden Death and Other Reports Officers responded to an EMS call on Glen Echo Drive on July 31 that became a sudden death. Other reports during the week included missing medications later found on Milford Road, a residential lockout on Herrick Park Drive, and a vehicle complaint brought to the station on Humelsine Drive. Officers also assisted a facility on West Streetsboro Street with a subject who had walked away, and a damaged light pole was found on its side on Scarlet Oak Drive.
