Hudson Police Blotter: Sudden Death and Suspicious Activity Reports

The Hudson Police Department released its incident report for Aug. 4 through Aug. 10. Officers responded to calls ranging from a sudden death investigation to identity theft, welfare checks and several suspicious activity reports across the city. Sudden Death Investigated at Assisted Care Facility Officers responded to a West Streetsboro Street assisted care facility on the evening of Aug. 8 for an unresponsive 61 year old man. He was found deceased at the scene. No further details were released. Identity Theft and Property Crimes A Timberline Trail resident reported identity theft to officers on Aug. 6. Theft of a motor vehicle part was reported on Hudson Drive on Aug. 10. A trespassing report was taken on Darrow Road on Aug. 7. A resident reported property damage to her vehicle on SR 8 North on Aug. 9. The damage had occurred earlier in the week. Two found property reports were filed during the week, including a wallet turned in at First and Main and a wallet located at Little Tikes on Barlow Road. Welfare Checks and Mental Health Calls Hudson Police and EMS responded to a Red Maple Drive residence for a mental health call on Aug. 5. Officers were dispatched to Assurance Health on Hudson Crossing Parkway for a mental health situation on Aug. 6. A mental health report was also taken at a West Streetsboro Street facility on Aug. 9. Police checked the welfare of a nursing home resident walking along SR 303 on the afternoon of Aug. 7. A North Royalton woman requested a welfare check on her son at an Ogilby Drive residence the same day. He was found safe and sleeping. Officers assisted an elderly man in medical distress on Atterbury Boulevard on Aug. 9. Suspicious Activity Reports Hudson Police were dispatched to Ravenna Street for a report of a suspicious person on Aug. 6. An officer observed suspicious activity near a railroad entrance on West Streetsboro Street late on Aug. 8. A resident on Parmelee Drive reported that an unknown person placed a letter in her mailbox on Aug. 8. Civil Matters and Informational Reports Several informational and civil matter reports were filed throughout the week, including calls at the Hudson Bus Garage, the Hudson Police Department lobby and residences on Elmcrest Drive, Burr Oak Way and Windsor Road. One report involved a Streetsboro woman who said an Aurora man had insulted her. Another involved a nursing home resident who reported being verbally insulted by another resident of the facility. A Hudson resident also met with officers to discuss transferring medication to his ex wife. Other Calls for Service Officers assisted Hudson Fire at an Aurora Street residence on Aug. 5. Police found an open door at Ruby Auto Group on Darrow Road on Aug. 5. Hudson Police responded to a dog bite report on Ambrose Drive on Aug. 4. A sick raccoon was euthanized on Ravenna Street on Aug. 9. A juvenile complaint was reported on Ambrose Drive on Aug. 8. Officers took a report for a disabled vehicle at Darrow Road and Middleton Road on Aug. 7 and responded to a 911 open line on Edgeview Drive on Aug. 8. Police also assisted Hudson EMS with a woman who injured her hand on Weston Drive on Aug. 9.
