DeWine, Tressel Launch Statewide Tour Touting Ohio's Top Business Ranking

Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel launched the Heart of Opportunity tour today in Cleveland at Rocket Arena. The statewide tour celebrates Ohio's ranking atop CNBC's list of America's Top States for Business. Regional panel discussions will focus on opportunities to support ongoing economic and workforce success. Cleveland panelists included Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik and Team NEO CEO Matt Dolan. "CNBC named Ohio the number one state for business in 2026," DeWine said. "We have more jobs filled than ever in our history. Ohio is the third-largest manufacturing state. Unemployment is at an historic low. And while we are proud of these accomplishments, we will continue to work together to make sure every Ohioan can fulfill their God-given potential." Tressel emphasized that access to opportunities and training is critical moving forward. Team NEO Weighs In on Regional Growth Dolan praised the governor's economic development record in Northeast Ohio. "Northeast Ohio continues to demonstrate that it is a region where businesses can succeed, grow, and invest," Dolan said. "Throughout his term, Governor DeWine has advanced economic development, supporting businesses and strengthening communities across Ohio. We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to our region, and for the lasting impact his work will have on Northeast Ohio's continued growth and success." Tour Continues in Youngstown DeWine and Tressel continued the tour Tuesday afternoon in Youngstown at America Makes. "Ohio has proven to have the perfect environment for business to move here, expand here, and stay here," DeWine said. "Youngstown is no different. There are quality, stable jobs right here in Northeast Ohio where Ohioans have the opportunity to reach their God given potential." Tressel added that opportunity exists statewide. "No matter where you live in the Buckeye State, there are endless opportunities that give everyone a pathway to reach their full potential," Tressel said. "We are traveling across Ohio to make sure all Ohioans know how to take advantage of these opportunities and how to get on their own pathway to success." The Governor and Lt. Governor will make additional stops over the next two weeks as the Heart of Opportunity tour continues.
