Pedestrian Given Courtesy Transport Just after 1 a.m. on August 16, officers came across a male walking on Mayfield Road who was wearing dark clothing and difficult to see. Police gave him a courtesy transport for his safety. The call was classified as assisted. Child Locked Inside Vehicle On Fox Hill Drive Also on August 16, officers responded to a Fox Hill Drive residence for a vehicle lockout involving a 17 month old child who was inside. Entry was gained and the child was freed. Open 911 Call Traced To Contractor On August 18, an officer responded to an open 911 call from a home in the 1700 block of Chagrin River Road. The home was checked and found to be fine. The call was determined to be accidental, triggered by a contractor working at the property. Ring Camera Prompts Check On Utility Worker On August 20, a County Line resident who lives out of town reported seeing a male on a ladder at his home through his Ring camera. Responding officers found the man to be a Spectrum worker performing routine work at the address. The property was checked and found to be fine. Vehicle Fire Shuts Down Mayfield Road Near Chagrin River On August 21, a 47 year old woman from Chesterland was driving on Mayfield Road near Chagrin River when her vehicle began overheating. The overheating led to a fire in the engine compartment, which the fire department extinguished. No injuries were reported. The road was temporarily shut down for about an hour while crews worked.
