Second Chance To Hear Trolley History Talk Set For Macedonia

A Northeast Ohio history talk on the region's interurban railway system is returning for a second session after the first drew strong turnout. The Historical Society of Old Northfield will host historian Allen Pfenninger for another presentation on the ABC Railway Interurban Trolley, a system that once linked communities across the area. A Look Back At Regional Rail Travel Pfenninger belongs to The Historical Society of Old Northfield and has studied the old Akron, Bedford and Cleveland Northern Ohio Traction and Light electric railroad extensively. During the talk, he will describe how the interurban trolley system operated a century ago and how it influenced the growth of Northfield and Macedonia. The event will also feature a handful of eerie stories tied to the season. These stories cover accidents and unusual incidents that occurred along the trolley route decades ago. Where And When To Attend The presentation is set for Saturday, October 17, starting at 11 a.m. The location is The United Methodist Church of Macedonia at 1280 East Aurora Road in Macedonia. Guests should use the west entrance near Fellowship Hall. There is no cost to attend, but organizers ask that guests reserve seats in advance since space is limited.
