Hudson Police Report Sex Offense Investigations, Warrant Arrests From Late August Into September

Domestic disputes, crisis calls and traffic stops also appear in the citys latest incident log The Hudson Police Department released its incident report covering August 25 through September 8. The log includes two sex offense investigations, several domestic and mental health calls, multiple warrant arrests, and dozens of smaller incidents across the city. Sex Offense Investigations Officers opened two sex offense investigations during the reporting period. On September 2, a mother reported that a suspect had been dating and having sexual contact with her 13 year old daughter at a Sullivan Road residence. Four days later, Hudson EMS called officers to a Barlow Road nursing home after a 75 year old female patient reported she had been sexually assaulted. Both cases remain under investigation, and police have not released further details. Domestic Disputes and Mental Health Calls Several calls during the period involved domestic conflicts or mental health crises. A resident reported feeling suicidal at a West Streetsboro Street facility on the morning of August 25. On August 28, a suspect at a Stoney Hill Drive residence reportedly threatened to kill or harm her foster mother. That same day, officers checked on a person at a Hudson Crossing Parkway health facility. Crisis calls continued through the weekend. Hudson Elms Nursing Facility saw two separate incidents, one involving a patient who threatened staff and was transported for evaluation, and another involving repeated 911 calls from a resident. On August 31, officers responded to a crisis intervention on East Highgate Court, and later that day a man on the same street called to complain that his estranged wife would not leave the home. Additional calls followed on Towbridge Drive, Granby Drive and East Case Drive through the first week of September. Warrant Arrests and Traffic Stops Traffic enforcement led to several arrests during the period. On August 30, a driver stopped for speeding on West Streetsboro Street was found to be driving under a suspended license. A separate incident that day, stemming from an incomplete 911 call, led to a felony warrant arrest on Herrick Park Drive. The following morning, a speed stop near North Hayden Parkway and Aurora Street turned up a probation violation warrant out of Montgomery County. The driver was taken into custody and later released at the countys direction. More traffic stops followed in early September. A driver near Hudson Aurora Road and Stow Road was cited for driving under suspension on September 1. Officers also investigated a hit skip crash at a Bard Drive apartment complex that day. On September 5, police responded to a report of reckless driving connected to an OVI offense near Barlow and Terex roads. Theft, Fraud and Property Crimes Financial crimes appeared several times in the log. A Hudson woman reported an attempt to access her bank account on September 5. A theft report was filed at the police station on September 6, and a Jefferson Drive resident reported telecommunications fraud on September 7. Property damage was also reported multiple times. Vandalism was discovered in the City Hall parking lot on August 26. Officers documented property damage on Middleton Road and near Ravenna Street and Stow Road on August 28, and again on Route 8 southbound on September 7. Criminal mischief was reported on Hudson Aurora Road on August 30. Trespassing, Harassment and Suspicious Activity Trespassing warnings were issued twice during the period, once to a person refusing to leave a Darrow Road business and again to a Stow resident near an event at East Main and Church streets. A Woodspring Lane resident also filed a trespassing report on September 2. Suspicious activity calls were common throughout the log. Reports came in from Hudson Middle School, Oak Grove Park, Barlow Farm Park, Aurora Street, Bradford Way, Dunbarton Drive and Northwest Bank. A report of a man going through a mailbox on a motorcycle came in from Brafferton Avenue on August 26. Telecommunications harassment was reported four separate times, on Winslow Drive, a Hudson Drive business, Prescott Drive and Weston Drive, along with a threats and harassment complaint filed at the police lobby on September 2. Animal Complaints, Welfare Checks and Other Calls Animal complaints came from Weston Drive, Middleton Road, Darrow Road and Manor Drive, including one call in which officers euthanized a sick raccoon. A dog at large on Stone Road was returned to its owner with a warning. Welfare checks made up a large share of the remaining calls, including stops at a Main Street coffee shop, Seasons Road, Woodspring Lane, Haymarket Way at the request of Adult Protective Services, and Abner Lane. Civil matters were reported on West Streetsboro Street, Haymarket Way and Bradford Way.
