Norton residents near Easton and Greenwich Roads may see or smell smoke through Wednesday due to scheduled firefighter training exercises.
Starting today through Wednesday, the Norton Fire Division will be conducting joint training exercises with local fire departments. A specialized training trailer provided by the Ohio State Fire Marshal will give firefighters the opportunity to practice responding to realistic live-fire scenarios. Residents near Easton and Greenwich Roads may see or smell a significant amount of smoke during the exercises. The rainy weather may make the smoke more noticeable or cause it to linger in the area. Please don’t be alarmed if you see or smell smoke in this area. It is part of the scheduled firefighter training. Exercises like these help local departments work together, sharpen their skills and stay prepared to respond when the community needs them most.
