Aurora Alumni Association Honors Four With Hall Of Fame Induction

AURORA, Ohio — The Aurora Alumni Association honored four distinguished alumni and educators during its Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on September 19 at the Aurora Inn. Organizers recognized the inductees for their contributions to their professions, to Aurora High School athletics and to the broader Northeast Ohio community. This year's class includes Dr. Jacob Calcei, Dick Doughman, Adam Bellamy and Dave Kotora. A Career In Orthopedic Medicine Dr. Jacob Calcei entered the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame for his career in orthopedic medicine. He graduated from Aurora High School in 2005. Since then, Calcei has built a respected practice as an orthopedic surgeon. He also remains active in civic and community organizations across the region. Decades On The Sidelines Dick Doughman was inducted into the Coach Hall of Fame for decades of work with Aurora student athletes. Coaches and colleagues remember him for his commitment to teaching, mentorship and integrity. His legacy with the program reaches beyond wins and losses, according to the association. Two Athletic Hall Of Fame Honorees Adam Bellamy, a 2009 Aurora High School graduate, joined the Athletic Hall of Fame posthumously for his football career. He earned All Ohio honors as a student athlete and went on to play at Ohio State University. Dave Kotora, from the Class of 1994, rounded out this year's Athletic Hall of Fame honorees. A two sport standout at Aurora High School, Kotora competed in both football and wrestling. He continued his athletic career at Kent State University.
