Sagamore Hills Police Respond to OVI Case, Drug Stop and String of Other Calls

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges A license plate violation turned into a drug case for Sagamore Hills police on Sept. 9. Officers pulled over a black Dodge Dart on Old Eight Valley View Road and found a marijuana blunt, a scale, a glass pipe containing marijuana residue, another marijuana blunt and a sealed bag of Kush Mintz marijuana. An 18 year old woman from Maple Heights was arrested. She now faces charges of drug paraphernalia, improper display of license plates and failure to reinstate a driver's license. Parking Lot Crash Results in OVI Arrest Sagamore Hills police were called to a private property crash on West Aurora Road on Sept. 16 after someone reported the driver may have been passed out. A 33 year old woman from Northfield was arrested. She was charged with operating a vehicle impaired by drugs or alcohol and with refusal after a prior OVI conviction within the last 20 years. Two Domestic Disputes Logged A husband and wife were at the center of a domestic dispute reported at a Heartridge Drive home on Sept. 12. A third woman was also named in the report. A different case brought a man to the police station on Sept. 13 to ask whether a restraining order had been filed against him. The underlying dispute had happened at a home on Pinewood View Road. Disturbance Between Cousins Police answered a call about a disturbance between cousins at a Carter Road home on Sept. 17. Fraud and Theft Reports A Canyon View Road resident reported identity theft to police on Sept. 16. A Canterbury Lane resident asked officers for a report after items went missing from the property on Sept. 17. Property Damage Reported Along Marymac and Sagamore Roads A group of residents visited the station on Sept. 16 to report property damage that had happened the day before near Marymac Road and Sagamore Road. Officers listed several vehicles connected to the report, among them a Cadillac, a Ford pickup, a Lincoln and a Hyundai. Civil Matter and Juvenile Complaint Officers were sent to a McPherson Circle home on Sept. 10 to handle a civil matter. That same day, police also responded to a juvenile complaint at a home on Otis Court. Welfare Check Ends With Rescue Squad Assist A welfare check at a Millrace Lane apartment on Sept. 18 carried into the early hours of Sept. 19 and required help from the rescue squad. Natural Death Reported at Care Facility Police were called to Brentwood Health Care Center on West Aurora Road on Sept. 20 after a woman was found unresponsive. Her death was ruled natural.
