Ravenna Police Report 40 Bookings Over Two Weeks, From Assault to Outstanding Warrants

The Ravenna Police Department booked 40 people into custody between Sept. 9 and Sept. 21, according to a booking report obtained by NEOhio.News. The charges ranged from violent offenses to traffic violations and outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions. In keeping with our policy on police reports, names of those booked are not included below. Violent and Domestic Offenses Officers booked one person on a charge of aggravated menacing on Sept. 17. The same date brought a menacing by stalking charge as well. Two separate assault charges were logged, one on Sept. 16 and another on Sept. 21. A domestic violence charge tied to knowingly causing physical harm was filed on Sept. 15. Drug and Alcohol Related Charges Drug charges made up a notable share of the bookings. One person faced a charge of corrupting another with drugs without the purpose of causing serious physical harm on Sept. 10. A separate possession of drugs charge was filed the same day. Marijuana possession was charged on Sept. 14, and possessing drug abuse instruments was charged on Sept. 9. Two people were booked on charges of operating a vehicle impaired by alcohol, drugs or a combination of both. Those charges were filed Sept. 12 and Sept. 13. Property and Theft Cases A breaking and entering charge was filed on Sept. 16. Theft charges appeared twice in the report, one filed Sept. 13 and a separate theft without consent charge filed Sept. 16. Vandalism charges were logged twice as well, on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. Public Order and Obstruction Several charges stemmed from a single incident on Sept. 13, including criminal trespass in a restricted area, disorderly conduct involving an offensive gesture or noise, obstructing official business, obstruction for failing to disclose personal information and resisting arrest. A separate resisting arrest charge tied to interfering with officers was filed on Sept. 9. A telecommunications harassment charge was booked on Sept. 21. Traffic Charges Traffic related bookings were limited to two dates. One person was charged with operating a vehicle with a muffler emitting excessive noise, smoke or gas on Sept. 12, along with a failure to yield at a stop or yield sign charge the same day. That date also included one of the two OVI charges noted above. Juvenile Cases Unruly juvenile offense charges appeared four times in the report, filed on Sept. 9, Sept. 11, Sept. 14 and Sept. 17. Outstanding Warrants Warrant arrests accounted for 10 of the 40 total bookings. Felony warrants from other agencies were served four times, on Sept. 9, Sept. 13, Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. Misdemeanor warrants from other agencies were served three times, twice on Sept. 14 and once on Sept. 13. Ravenna police also served three misdemeanor warrants of their own, on Sept. 11, Sept. 13 and Sept. 17.
