Good Tuesday morning — and welcome to spring in Northeast Ohio. We’re watching neighborhood classrooms, community events, and local safety updates as the calendar moves from April into the busy weeks ahead. Community organizers announced that Busch Funeral and Crematory Services, working with the Northeast Ohio Nurse Honor Guard, will host their 3rd Annual Nurse Memorial Service in April. This year’s program will include two services held in observance of National Nurses Week to give more people the opportunity to attend and remember nurses who served our region. The services are being organized out of Cleveland and will be held at Busch Funeral and Crematory Services. In education news, Nordonia Hills Superintendent’s regular “From the Desk of the Superintendent” update paints a positive picture of district progress as the school year enters its final stretch. The message highlights students “learning, growing, and taking steps forward,” and notes that Nordonia High School juniors recently completed the ACT — a milestone the district cites as one measure of readiness and momentum heading into summer. Public safety officials in Gates Mills released a police blotter covering March 31–April 4 that underscores how spring weather can complicate routine travel. The Gates Mills Police Department responded to severe-weather impacts, multi-jurisdictional traffic accidents, traffic-control assignments and multiple community assistance calls over that period. The entry is a helpful reminder that local departments often coordinate with neighboring jurisdictions when storms or multi-car crashes occur. There were no new bulletin-board notices in our feed overnight, so community calendar items remain as previously posted. If you’re planning to attend public events or volunteer opportunities later this month, keep checking our community and school pages for updates tied to National Nurses Week and end-of-year school activities. That’s your morning roundup — we’ll keep tracking developments across Nordonia Hills, Gates Mills and the rest of Northeast Ohio. Stay safe, and stay informed.
