Hudson Police Reports: OVI Arrest, Two Crashes and Several Scam Attempts

Hudson police handled a wide range of calls from Sept. 22 to 29. The department's incident media report lists an impaired driving arrest, multiple fraud cases and several animal encounters. It also includes two crash reports from Sept. 17. The items below are grouped by category and listed by date. Alarms, Fire and Emergency Calls Officers responded to The Goddard School on Darrow Road at 7:51 p.m. Sept. 22 for an alarm drop. At 4:41 p.m. Sept. 24, dispatchers received five hang up calls at a local school on Stow Road. Hudson Country Club on Middleton Road reported a storage and kitchen indoor alarm at 6:26 a.m. Sept. 25. Police found an open door and determined it was accidental. At 10:35 p.m. Sept. 25, Hudson fire and police responded to an open burn complaint on Norton Road. Police answered an alarm call on Sunset Drive at 11:24 a.m. Sept. 26. At 6:23 p.m. Sept. 29, Hudson officers assisted HEMS with a medical emergency at an East Streetsboro Street residence. Animal Complaints A sick raccoon was dispatched on Leeway Drive at 4:31 p.m. Sept. 22. About an hour later, at 5:33 p.m., officers went to Stoney Hill Drive for a dog that had been attacked by a raccoon. An officer met a resident in the Hudson police lobby at 6:54 p.m. Sept. 23 to discuss an animal complaint tied to Nicholson Drive. At about 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24, police euthanized an injured opossum on Middleton Road. A report was taken at 9:03 a.m. for an injured deer on Barlow Road. A resident on Herrick Park Drive reported at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 26 that she had captured a dog running at large. At about 1:44 p.m. Sept. 28, police euthanized a sick raccoon on Winslow Drive. Officers also took an animal complaint report on Hollis Boulevard at 8:26 a.m. Sept. 29. Burglary, Trespassing and Property Damage Unknown suspects tried to enter an attached garage on Nicholson Drive around 1:10 a.m. Sept. 23. They fled the area before getting inside. Officers responded to a trespassing call on Valley View Road at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 25. A city park on Veterans Way sustained damage overnight Sept. 26. The report was logged at 3:35 a.m. At 7:50 p.m. Sept. 27, a suspect came onto a property on Winslow Drive and refused to leave after the resident asked. Officers responded. Police investigated a park violation at Barlow Farms Park at 10:31 p.m. Sept. 28. At 9:02 p.m. Sept. 29, officers responded to a report of trespassing at McDowell Elementary School on North Hayden Parkway. Crashes At 7:35 a.m. Sept. 17, a driver backing out of a private driveway on Chestwick Lane hit a legally parked vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported. The vehicles were a Cadillac SUV and a Hyundai Sonata. At 7:56 a.m. Sept. 17, a Mazda struck the rear of a Buick Enclave on Hudson Aurora Road. The Buick was traveling northeast. Rain had left the road wet. The 17 year old Mazda driver was cited for failing to maintain assured clear distance ahead. The Mazda had disabling damage and was towed. The Buick had minor damage, and its driver was 16. No injuries were reported. At 4:21 a.m. Sept. 26, Peninsula police requested the Summit Metro Crash Response Team for a possible fatal crash on Interstate 271 southbound. Crisis, Domestic and Welfare Officers took a welfare check report on West Streetsboro Street at 1:51 a.m. Sept. 23. At about 6:03 a.m. Sept. 24, police assisted a man who was having a momentary mental health crisis on South Main Street. Officers responded at 3:22 p.m. Sept. 26 to a report of a man yelling at passing cars from his driveway near Stow Road and Victoria Parkway. At 11:21 p.m. the same day, officers went to a Parkside Drive home where a family member was having mental health issues. Police investigated a domestic situation on Barlow Road at 6:18 p.m. Sept. 27. Another domestic situation drew officers to Cheshire Road at 8:29 p.m. Officers were dispatched to Bard Drive for a crisis intervention at 2:04 p.m. Sept. 28. At 8:07 p.m. Sept. 29, officers checked on a person's welfare near Aurora Street and North Hayden Parkway. Found and Lost Property At 1:20 p.m. Sept. 22, an unknown person dropped off a car key fob found at Hudson Springs Park. Research showed it belongs to a Hyundai Ioniq from model years 2022 through 2026. It was placed in temporary evidence. A found debit card was returned to its owner on South Main Street on Sept. 26. A resident also turned in a found Visa credit card on South Oviatt Street on Sept. 27. Officers responded to a lost or stolen property call on North Main Street at 11:58 a.m. Sept. 26. Fraud, Scams and Theft Fraud and scams At about 4:50 p.m. Sept. 24, police learned of an attempt to steal money from a Nicholson Drive resident through an elaborate deception. Police took a fraud report from a Stonecreek Way resident at 5:57 p.m. Sept. 27. On Sept. 28, officers went to Barlow Hill Road for a report of telecommunications fraud. On Sept. 29, a woman on Stratford Road told police she had been tricked out of a large sum of money. T
