Detours Ahead: Road Closures Hit Six Northeast Ohio Counties This Week

Drivers in Ashtabula, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit and Trumbull counties will find new closures and detours this week. All work is weather permitting. Ashtabula County U.S. 6, Andover: U.S. 6 just north of Orchard Dr. is closed through mid-October for a culvert replacement. The detour is U.S. 6 to SR 193 north to SR 167 east to SR 7 south. SR 193, Sheffield Township: SR 193 between Maple Rd. and Fink Rd. is closed through late October for a bridge replacement. The detour is SR 167 to SR 7 to SR 84. SR 84, Ashtabula: Three closures continue for pavement reconstruction through late November. The intersection of Main Ave. and Collins St./48th St. is closed. The detour is SR 11 to U.S. 20 to SR 45. SR 84 between Main Ave. and W. 46th St. is closed. The detour is SR 11 to U.S. 20 to SR 45. W. 48th St. between Main Ave. and Park Ave. is closed. The detour is Main Ave. to W. 44th St. to Park Ave. Mahoning County Wick Ave. bridge deck replacement, Youngstown: Several closures remain in place through mid-October. Wick Ave. over U.S. 422 is closed. The northbound detour is W. Rayen Ave. to 5th Ave. to Park Ave. to Elm St. to Madison Ave. to McGuffey Rd. The southbound detour is McGuffey Rd. to Madison Ave. to 5th Ave. to W. Rayen Ave. The U.S. 422 eastbound ramp to Wick Ave. is closed. The detour is U.S. 422 eastbound to Oak St. to E. Rayen Ave. The U.S. 422 westbound ramp to Wick Ave. is closed. The detour is U.S. 422 westbound to Fifth Ave. to W. Rayen Ave. I-76/80 pavement rehabilitation, Austintown and Jackson Townships: I-80 eastbound and westbound is reduced to two lanes between the Meander Reservoir and SR 46. Work should wrap up in mid-November. I-680 pavement replacement, Youngstown: Southbound traffic remains crossed over onto the northbound lanes through late fall while the southbound side is rebuilt. I-680 northbound between South Ave. and SR 193 is closed through summer 2027. The detour is U.S. 62 to U.S. 422 to SR 193. The full project should finish in August 2028. SR 193 to I-680 southbound. The detour is I-680 northbound to SR 711 to U.S. 422 eastbound to U.S. 62 west/SR 7 south to I-680 south. I-680 southbound to Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. The detour is I-680 southbound to South Ave. to Front St. to Marshall St. Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. to I-680 south. The detour is High St. to Oak Hill Rd. to Falls Ave. to Market St. to Williams Ave. to South Ave. I-680 south to Market St. south and Market St. north. The detour is I-680 south to South Ave. to Williamson Ave. to Market St. I-680 south to U.S. 62/SR 7 north. The detour is I-680 south to South Ave. to U.S. 62/SR 7. The detour is Glenwood Ave. to Mahoning Ave. to Belle Vista Ave. I-680 north to Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. The detour is South Ave. to Front St. to Marshall St. Market St., Woodland Ave. and U.S. 62 west/SR 7 south to I-680 north. The detour is Woodland Ave. to Hadnet Dr. to South Ave. to U.S. 62/SR 7 to U.S. 422 to SR 193. Portage County SR 225, Palmyra Township: New this week, SR 225 between Williams Rd. and Corbett Rd. closed Monday, October 12, and will stay closed through late October for a culvert replacement. The detour is SR 225 to I-76 to SR 14. U.S. 422, Nelson Township: Beginning Tuesday, October 13, U.S. 422 between Bancroft Rd. and Hobart Rd. will be closed through late October for a culvert replacement. The detour is U.S. 422 to SR 282 to SR 305. U.S. 224, Randolph Township: U.S. 224 just east of SR 44 is now open. I-76, Rootstown and Edinburg Townships: I-76 eastbound and westbound between SR 44 and Industry Rd. has lane restrictions nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through mid-October for resurfacing. SR 14 and SR 43, Streetsboro: Nightly lane restrictions continue through late October for resurfacing on SR 14 from just south of I-80/Ohio Turnpike to Portage Pointe Dr. They also apply on SR 43 from the southern Streetsboro corporation limit to Market Square Dr. SR 303 at SR 14 is closed through late October. The detour is Superior Ave. to SR 14. The project should finish in late November. Stark County U.S. 30, Canton, East Canton and Minerva: The ramp from U.S. 30 west to I-77 south was closed for bridge repairs through 7 a.m. Monday, October 12. The detour was I-77 north to SR 172/Tuscarawas St. to I-77 south.
