Northeast Ohio Road Work Guide: Nightly I-77 Closures, I-680 Ramp Shutdowns and New Detours

New closures and detours are popping up across Northeast Ohio this week. The Ohio Department of Transportation says all scheduled work depends on the weather. Here is a county by county look at what to expect. Ashtabula County SR 84 Pavement Reconstruction, Ashtabula SR 84 between Main Ave. and W. 46th St. is closed through late November. The detour is SR 11 to U.S. 20 to SR 45. W. 48th St. between Main Ave. and Park Ave. is also closed through late November. That detour is Main Ave. to W. 44th St. to Park Ave. SR 86 Culvert Replacement, Windsor Township SR 86 just east of Ireland Rd. is now open. SR 193 Bridge Replacement, Sheffield Township SR 193 between Maple Rd. and Fink Rd. is closed through mid-November. The detour is SR 167 to SR 7 to SR 84. Mahoning County I-76/80 Pavement Work, Austintown and Jackson Townships I-80 east and west is down to two lanes between the Meander Reservoir and SR 46. Crews expect to finish in mid-November. I-680 Pavement Replacement, Youngstown I-680 southbound traffic is crossed over onto the northbound lanes through late November. I-680 northbound between South Ave. and SR 193 is closed until summer 2027. The detour is U.S. 62 to U.S. 422 to SR 193. The full project should be done in August 2028. I-680 Ramps Closed Through Late November Sillman St. to I-680 south. Detour: Steel St. to Mahoning Ave. to Belle Vista Ave. to Oakwood St. to I-680. SR 193 to I-680 south. Detour: I-680 north to SR 711 to U.S. 422 east to U.S. 62 west/SR 7 south to I-680 south. I-680 south to Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. Detour: South Ave. to Front St. to Marshall St. Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. to I-680 south. Detour: High St. to Oak Hill Rd. to Falls Ave. to Market St. to Williamson Ave. to South Ave. I-680 south to Market St. north and south. Detour: South Ave. to Williamson Ave. to Market St. I-680 south to U.S. 62/SR 7 north. Detour: South Ave. to U.S. 62/SR 7. I-680 Ramps Closed Through Summer 2027 I-680 north to SR 193. Detour: U.S. 62/SR 7 to U.S. 422 to SR 193. Marshall St. to I-680 north. Detour: Glenwood Ave. to Mahoning Ave. to Belle Vista Ave. I-680 north to Glenwood Ave./Mahoning Ave. Detour: South Ave. to Front St. to Marshall St. Market St., Woodland Ave. and U.S. 62 west/SR 7 south to I-680 north. Detour: Woodland Ave. to Hadnet Dr. to South Ave. to U.S. 62/SR 7 to U.S. 422 to SR 193. Portage County I-76 Bridge Repairs, Rootstown and Edinburg Townships I-76 in both directions between SR 44 and Industry Rd. has nightly lane restrictions. They run from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through early November. SR 14 and SR 43 Intersection, Streetsboro SR 303 at SR 14 is closed through late November. The detour is Superior Ave. to SR 14. Reopened Roads U.S. 422 between Bancroft Rd. and Hobart Rd. in Nelson Township is now open. SR 225 between Williams Rd. and Corbett Rd. in Palmyra Township is also open. Stark County New This Week I-77 Repairs, Jackson Township (Nov. 2 to Nov. 4) The ramp from I-77 north to Everhard Rd. closes daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The detour is the Whipple Ave. exit to Everhard Rd. U.S. 250 Railroad Crossing, Sugar Creek Township (Nov. 2 to Nov. 5) U.S. 250 just north of the Tuscarawas County line will be closed. The detour is SR 212 to SR 21. SR 212 Railroad Crossing, Sugar Creek Township (Nov. 10 to Nov. 13) SR 212 just west of SR 93 will be closed. The detour is U.S. 250 to SR 21. Ongoing Work U.S. 30 Resurfacing, Canton, East Canton and Minerva Lane restrictions remain on U.S. 30 from Raff Rd. to SR 43 in Canton. They also continue from Trump Ave. to the eastern East Canton limit. Minerva drivers will see restrictions from Liberty Ave. to the Columbiana County line. SR 172 in East Canton is affected from N. Cedar St. to Browning Ct. ODOT had estimated completion in late October. Massillon and Lawrence Township Resurfacing SR 241 between Tremont Ave. and the Massillon limit has lane restrictions. SR 172 between the Lincoln Way bridge and Erie St. does too. Work should end in mid-November. SR 241 Bridge and Roundabout, Jackson Township SR 241 between Shuffel St. and Willowdale Lake Ave. is closed through fall 2027. Trucks should use SR 241 to I-77 to SR 687. The local detour is Shuffel St. to Frank Ave. to Strausser St. Summit County New This Week I-77 Pedestrian Bridge, Akron (Nov. 2 to Nov. 4) The ramp from Archwood Ave. to I-77 north closes nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The detour is Coventry St. to SR 764/Wilbeth Ave. to I-77 north. The ramp from I-77 north to I-76 east and west closes nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should take SR 8 north to Carrol St. to SR 8 south to I-76. SR 176 Culvert Replacement, Richfield (Starts Nov. 4) SR 176 just south of Boston Rd. will close through mid-November. The detour is SR 303 to SR 94 to SR 82.
