Infrastructure Enhancements Accelerate for the Crossroads 91/59 Project STOW, Ohio — The Crossroads 91/59 project is a comprehensive infrastructure initiative designed to improve traffic flow, safety, and pedestrian accessibility at the vital junction of State Route 91 and State Route 59 in Stow. Managed through a partnership of regional contractors and utility providers, the project is currently entering a high-activity phase involving massive pavement reconstruction and the integration of smart signal technology. This development is part of a larger effort to modernize one of the most heavily trafficked corridors in Summit County. New Pavement and Milling on SR 91 Crews are shifting focus to the roadway surface as the Crossroads 91/59 project reaches new milestones. Starting next week, motorists should expect significant activity between Kent Road and the local Post Office as Karvo Companies begins asphalt milling and pavement repairs. Surface Work: Placement of intermediate asphalt and manhole adjustments will follow milling. Landscaping: On the west side of the corridor, crews are already finalizing topsoil and seeding. ADA Accessibility: Installation of new ADA-compliant ramps is scheduled to begin immediately following the completion of electrical signal work. Advanced Signal Technology and Pedestrian Safety A primary goal of the Crossroads 91/59 project is the total overhaul of the traffic control system. Perram Electric is currently installing modern signal heads and poles to reduce congestion and improve emergency vehicle response times. Utility Relocation and Stormwater Infrastructure The Crossroads 91/59 project includes a complete reconfiguration of local utilities to support a wider, safer roadway. Gas & Power: Enbridge is currently replacing gas lines near Fishcreek Road, while Adell Durbin manages the relocation of overhead utility poles. Drainage: Storm sewer installations have been successfully completed from south of Graham Road to Kent Road, ensuring the new roadway can handle heavy Northeast Ohio weather events.
