RAVENNA, Ohio – The Ravenna Police Department responded to several high-profile incidents between April 7 and April 14, 2026, including arrests for domestic violence, felony burglary, and identity fraud. Officers navigated a busy week that involved coordinating with outside agencies for warrant transfers and addressing multiple reports of unruly juvenile behavior and public disturbances throughout the city. Domestic Violence and Abduction Charges On April 13, 2026, officers responded to a welfare check where a victim reported being held against her will. According to police records, a male suspect pushed the victim onto a bed to prevent her from leaving and later placed her in a chokehold, resulting in visible injuries to her neck and ear. The suspect allegedly forced the victim into a bathroom to hide when police arrived for the welfare check. He was subsequently charged with Abduction, Domestic Violence, and Strangulation. Felony Burglary and Trespassing Incidents On April 11, officers were dispatched to Page St. following a 911 call reporting screaming and the sound of breaking glass. Upon arrival, police found a broken window and blood at an apartment. A male resident from a neighboring unit admitted to breaking the window with a rock, claiming he was trying to enter the residence to release a dog that had been barking all day. He was charged with Burglary, a fourth-degree felony. Additionally, on April 14, officers responded to a call regarding criminal trespass at a separate residence in the city. Identity Fraud and Drug Offenses On April 9, a victim reported to the station that her ex-boyfriend had stolen her identity, a necklace, and opened credit cards in her name. Investigators discovered a confession sent via text message from the suspect, leading to a charge of Identity Fraud. On the same day, during a traffic stop at Grant St. and Riddle Ave., a passenger admitted to having drug paraphernalia in his backpack. A search revealed glass pipes with residue, resulting in a citation for Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments. Juvenile Incidents and Public Indecency The department addressed several juvenile matters, including a physical altercation at Brown Middle School on April 14. A male student allegedly punched another student and shoved a teacher during a classroom dispute over a facemask. On April 11, a juvenile female was charged with Criminal Mischief after being observed throwing a large rock at a victim's front door. In a separate incident on April 14, officers responded to a business on Westshore Dr. where a male suspect was reported for public indecency.
