Nordonia Varsity Knights were the first to get on the board in the first when Canzoni singled, scoring one run. In the bottom of the first inning, Solon Varsity Comets went back into the lead after Dunmire singled to left field, and Nordonia Varsity Knights committed an error, each scoring one run. Nordonia Varsity Knights jumped into the lead in the top of the second when Nealon doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and McClelland singled, scoring one run. Canzoni earned the win for Nordonia Varsity Knights. The right-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Thomas took the loss for Solon Varsity Comets. The pitcher went two innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking one.
