Summit and Medina Counties Celebrate In-Demand Jobs Week May 4-8

The ninth annual In-Demand Jobs Week of Summit and Medina Counties, part of a statewide celebration of jobs, industries, and skills that are in-demand in Ohio, will be held May 4-8, 2026. The theme for In-Demand Jobs Week 2026 is “Reach Your Full Potential,” inspiring excitement and awareness of high-demand careers in Ohio. This year’s activities will highlight current opportunities in central in-demand industries such as healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing. Job seekers will be able to directly access employers with openings at career fairs and hiring events, as well as workforce development professionals who can assist with resume writing, job search, and locating training opportunities. Businesses across the region are preparing to connect with talent and promote their open positions throughout the week. Medina County Commissioner Colleen Swedyk emphasized the value of the weeklong celebration, stating, “Employers in Medina County are enthusiastic about participating In ‑ Demand Jobs Week hiring events to strengthen their outreach and connect with individuals ready to reach their full potential.” Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro shared her support for this year’s statewide initiative, noting, “Summit County is proud to support In-Demand Jobs Week this year. Our county’s employers continue to offer competitive career opportunities across jobs defined as critical, welcoming job seekers with varied skill levels and experience.
