At the Northfield Center Trustee June meeting, Akron-Summit County Public Library Executive Director Michelle Alleman addressed the board, announcing that the Nordonia Hills Branch Library will temporarily close for approximately one year to undergo renovations funded by a 2025 voter-approved capital bond issue. The closure is expected to begin next summer. Planned improvements include a new service desk, passport processing room, study rooms, updated children’s area and new furniture. A mobile book trailer will be staffed one day per week and one Saturday per month during the closure, and a book drop will remain available at all times. A community town hall is scheduled for August 1 at the Nordonia Hills Branch Library at 1 p.m. Kona Ice and Friends of Nordonia Hills Branch Library will also be on site for an end-of-summer celebration.
