Aurora police handle a late-night lake rescue, execute felony warrant arrests, and investigate a caregiver theft on South Parkview Drive.
The Aurora Police Department handled a wide range of emergency calls, property crimes, and domestic disputes between May 21 and May 27, 2026. Officers managed a late-night water rescue, served multiple felony warrants, and initiated investigations into a theft involving a home healthcare worker. Aurora Police Department Lake Rescue Early in the morning on May 21, 2026, Aurora police officers responded to a series of disjointed 911 hang-up calls originating from Cimarron Oval. The dispatcher noted that the male caller sounded out of breath and appeared to be walking around the area before repeatedly hanging up. Upon arriving to check the area, officers discovered the male swimming in a local lake behind a residence on Cimarron Oval around 3:08 a.m. Police and emergency medical squads successfully removed the individual from the water, noting he was suffering from extreme cold. The individual was treated on-scene by emergency medical services for health-related concerns. Domestic Violence and Dispute Interventions Officers were dispatched to a residence on Bryce Avenue on May 24, 2026, at approximately 7:37 p.m. following reports of a domestic disturbance. An intoxicated male suspect allegedly threw a relative’s personal belongings into the yard while small children were inside the home. Reminderville police units assisted at the scene. A male suspect was taken into custody without further physical escalation and transported to the Portage County Jail, where he was booked on domestic violence charges related to causing fear of imminent physical harm. Later in the week, on May 27, 2026, police responded to a highly volatile domestic dispute at a home on Lake Avenue. A resident reported that her son was acting out of control and utilizing illegal drugs, raising fears that he might harm the property. Though an initial report indicated a firearm might be present, arriving officers secured the scene, confirmed both parties denied the presence of a weapon, and mediated the situation without physical violence or subsequent arrests. Theft and Property Crime Reports On May 27, 2026, an Aurora resident living on South Parkview Drive contacted the station to report a major theft from their home. The victim informed responding officers that she believed an independent home health aide employed by a regional caregiving network had stolen valuable items from her residence. An inventory of the missing property revealed that multiple wedding rings and prescription medications were taken. Aurora detectives are actively investigating the uncharged caregiving suspect. In a separate property incident on May 27, 2026, a resident from Lakeland Way visited the police department to report suspicious activity. The homeowner stated that an unknown male had trespassed onto his property, stepped onto his front porch, and reached above the main entry door before scouting the perimeter of the house. Police documented the activity and placed the neighborhood on an increased watch.
