Mayfield Heights Road Rage Incident Involves Shooting and Felonious Assault Charge

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Said Cushmeer, 62, of Mayfield Heights, engaged in a road-rage incident on Interstate 271 and subsequently discharged a firearm at another motorist. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Following an immediate investigation, officers from the Mayfield Heights Police Department identified Cushmeer as the suspect. He was taken into custody without incident a short time later. Cushmeer has been charged with Felonious Assault. Additional charges are being reviewed and are expected to be presented as the investigation continues. The investigation remains active.
