Gates Mills police handled several calls between Aug. 9 and Aug. 14: a damage report from fresh asphalt on Brigham Road, a dog bite to an Amazon driver, a Chagrin River Road dispute call, an ongoing theft investigation over a partial shoe delivery, a father son dispute, and a traffic incident where a driver swerved to avoid a pickup and hit a bicycle sign.

Aurora police responded to thefts, disputes, and a marijuana citation during Aug. 4-10, handling multiple calls including welfare checks and traffic violations.

Ravenna police booked 16 people Aug. 4-10 on charges including theft, drug possession, protection order violations, and warrant arrests. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

A chemical reaction at Royal Chemical, 8735 Freeway Drive in Macedonia, produced a white vapor cloud Thursday morning, prompting a multi agency response from the Macedonia Fire Department, Summit County HAZMAT Team, Hudson EMS, Northfield Village Fire Department, Macedonia Police, the Ohio EPA and local utilities. A shelter in place advisory was issued as a precaution and later lifted after air monitoring confirmed no threat to residents. Operations concluded shortly after 11 a.m. with no injuries to emergency crews; one employee was evaluated by EMS but did not require transport.

Forever Friends Foundation is hosting its Kitty Kafe Summer Cookout Adoption Event on Saturday, August 8, from noon to 4 pm at Petco, 500 E Aurora Rd in Macedonia.
