Bibee Shines Amongst Guardians Boppers

It was a disappointing opening day for Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee as he was listed as ‘OUT’ with Acute Gastroenteritis. Regardless, the team was able to secure a 7-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals that Thursday. Luckily, Bibee was able to make a start in the third game this past Sunday afternoon to make their record 2-1 with a solid win.

The elite right-handed pitcher was able to throw 6 2/3 innings of no-run baseball with only two hits plus two strikeouts and only just two walks. The Guardians were able to secure quite an excellent 6-2 win in Kansas City.

Last season as a member of the Guardians, Bibee started 31 games and went 12-8 with a 3.47 ERA. This in 173.2 total innings pitched, 187 strikeouts compared to only 44 walks. Those are fantastic numbers for the 26-year-old and it showed with the way he pitched on Sunday espite being ill just days before.

The Guardians were able to get three home runs. One from Gabriel Arias, one from Daniel Schneemann and a two-run blast from Kyle Mazarardo. However, it’s not always just about the long ball.
