Family Emergencies, Overdose, and Fraud: Sagamore Hills Police Reports

In a week marked by medical emergencies and investigations, Sagamore Hills Police Department officers demonstrated their vital role in community safety through quick response times and professional assistance to residents in need.

Critical Incidents

Medical Emergency Prompts Swift Response

First responders rushed to a St. Lawrence Circle residence Sunday after a son called police reporting his father had suffered a serious injury. The Macedonia Fire Department joined Sagamore Hills officers at the scene, with the situation being resolved approximately 15 minutes after authorities arrived.

Teen Hospitalized Following Overdose Incident

A particularly concerning call brought emergency personnel to Summersweet Trail Saturday evening when a 13-year-old male was reported to be overdosing. Macedonia Fire Department paramedics transported the juvenile to Akron Children’s General Hospital for treatment after police secured evidence including a suicide note found at the scene.

Criminal Investigations

Healthcare Facility Reports Assault

Early Saturday morning, officers investigated an assault at Brentwood Health Care Center on West Aurora Road. The incident, involving a 22-year-old female victim, occurred shortly after 2:30 AM with two witnesses providing statements to authorities.

Financial Crimes Target Local Residents

Two separate fraud investigations were initiated last week, highlighting the growing concern of financial scams targeting community members:

A 78-year-old Chandler Court resident reported fraudulent activity spanning approximately two weeks in April, filing her report with Officer Ryan Shelby on Saturday.

Earlier in the week, officers responded to a Deerfield Drive apartment complex where a resident reported ongoing financial fraud since April 23. Officers Ryan Ennis and Glenn Lucore documented the complaint Tuesday evening.

Interagency Cooperation

Federal Operation Receives Local Support

In a demonstration of interagency partnership, Sagamore Hills officers assisted the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and U.S. Marshals Service at a McPherson Circle residence Thursday. The collaborative effort reflects the department’s commitment to supporting operations beyond municipal boundaries.

Family Dispute Leads to Police Intervention

Officers intervened early Sunday morning when a male resident sought assistance at the police station, reporting he had been followed by his estranged wife following a domestic dispute on Mottl Reserve Drive. The situation was reportedly resolved within 15 minutes.
