Ashtabula County
Ashtabula County (Thursday, May 8, 2025) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ashtabula County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.
US Route 322; State Routes 7 & 85 resurfacing
The following routes have various lane restrictions for resurfacing:
• SR 7 between US 322 and the southern Andover Corporation limit.
• US 322 between SR 7 and the Pennsylvania State line.
• SR 85 from the eastern Andover Corporation limit to the Pennsylvania State line.
Estimated completion, late June 2025.
State Route 193 resurfacing, Dorset & Cherry Valley Township
SR 193 from US 6 to just north of Kyle Rd. has various daily lane restrictions for milling and resurfacing. Estimated completion, late September 2025.
Mahoning County
Mahoning County (Thursday, May 8, 2025) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Mahoning County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.
Interstate 680 bridge repairs
CONTINUING IMPACT – I-680 northbound under Walker Mill Rd. is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs.
CONTINUING IMPACT – Walker Mill Rd. over I-680 is closed through mid-June for bridge repairs. The detour is South Ave. to US 224 to SR 170 to N. Lima Rd.

CONTINUING IMPACT – I-680 northbound has various lane restrictions from just north of US 224 to SR 170. Estimated completion, September 2025.
US 224 bridge replacement, Canfield Township
US 224 over I-76/Ohio Turnpike is reduced to one lane in each direction through fall 2026 for a bridge replacement being performed by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
State Routes 14 & 165 resurfacing & bridge repairs, Village of Beloit; Goshen, Green & Smith Townships
The following routes have various lane restrictions for resurfacing:
• SR 14 between the Portage County line and Columbiana County line.
• SR 165 from the northern Beloit Corporation limit to SR 14.
Estimated completion, late October 2025.
State Route 170 pavement reconstruction, Village of New Middletown & Springfield Township
SR 170 southbound is closed between SR 630/ Calla Rd. and Woodland Dr. through late October 2025. The detour is SR 617 to SR 165 to SR 626 to SR 7 to US 224 to SR 170. Estimated completion, late October 2025.
Portage County
State Route 43 widening, Streetsboro
SR 43 between Market Square Dr. and Frost Rd. has various daily lane restrictions. Estimated completion, late June 2025.
State Route 88 bridge replacement, Freedom Township
SR 88 over I-80/Ohio Turnpike is closed through November 2025 for a bridge replacement being performed by the Ohio Turnpike Commission. The detour is SR 303 to SR 700 to SR 82. For more information, please contact the Ohio Turnpike at (440) 971-2222.
Stark County
State Route 43 & 172 resurfacing, Canton
SR 43 between 12th St. and 19th St. has various lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, July 2025.
State Route 172 resurfacing, Massillon
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Monday, May 19, SR 172 between Vindell Ave. NW and Tommy Hendrich Dr. will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, late August 2025.
State Route 800 pavement repairs, City of Canton
Various ramps at the I-77 and SR 800 interchange are closed through early June while the city of Canton performs pavement repairs. The detour is Shepler Church Ave. to Dueber Ave. to Mill St. SW. For more information, please contact the City of Canton Engineering Department at (330) 489-3370.
Summit County
Interstate 76/77 Akron Beltway reconstruction, Akron – reconstruction of I-76/I-77 between Princeton Ave. to V. Odom Blvd., I-77 between Cole Ave. and Waterloo Rd., and at State Route 8/I-76/I-77 Central Interchange. Estimated completion, August 2025.
NEW IMPACT – On Friday evening, May 9, at 10 p.m., I-76 west at the Central Interchange will be closed through Saturday morning, May 10, at 5 a.m. The detour will be SR 8 north to Carrol St. to SR 8 south to I-76 west.
NEW IMPACT – On Sunday evening, May 11 at 9 p.m., the ramp from SR 8 south to I-76 east will be closed through Monday morning, May 12 at 5 a.m. The detour will be I-77 south to Archwood Ave. to I-77 north to I-76 east.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Sunday evening, May 11, and continuing through Friday morning, May 16, I-77 south at I-76/Kenmore Leg will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detour will be I-76/Kenmore Leg south to I-277 east to I-77 north to I-76 east.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Sunday evening, May 11, and continuing through Friday morning, May 16, the ramp from I-76/Kenmore Leg north to I-76 east will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detour will be I-77 north to SR 261 to I-77 south to I-76/Kenmore Leg south to I-277 east to I-77 north to I-76 east.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Sunday evening, May 11, and continuing through Friday morning, May 16, the ramp from East Ave. to I-76 east will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detour will be East Ave. to SR 619 to I-76 east to I-277 east to I-77 north to I-76 east.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Sunday evening, May 11, and continuing through Friday morning, May 16, the ramp from South St./Lakeshore Blvd. to I-76 east will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detour will be South St. to Main St. to I-76 west to I-76/Kenmore Leg south to I-277 east to I-77 north to I-76 east.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Tuesday evening, May 13, and continuing through Thursday morning, May 15, I-77/SR 8 south at the Central Interchange will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detour will be I-76 west to I-76/Kenmore Leg south to I-277 east to I-7 south.
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Tuesday evening, May 13, and continuing through Thursday morning, May 15, the ramp from I-76 west to I-77 south will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. The detour will be I-76 west to I-76/Kenmore Leg south to I-277 east to I-7 south.
NEW IMPACT – On Thursday evening, May 15, at 10 p.m., I-77/SR 8 north at the Central Interchange will be closed through Friday morning, May 16, at 5 a.m. The detour will be I-76 east to Brittain Rd. to I-76 west to SR 8 north.
CONTINUING IMPACT – I-76 eastbound and westbound at I-77/SR 8/Central Interchange is reduced to one lane through mid-June. Motorists can expect delays in this area.
CONTINUING IMPACT – The ramp from Innovation Way to I-76 westbound is closed through early June. The detour is Innovation Way to SR 18/E. Market St. to General St. to I-76 west.
CONTINUING IMPACT – The ramps from Main St. to I-76 east are closed through mid-June. The detour is I-76 west to Dart Ave. to South St. to I-76 east.
CONTINUING IMPACT – SR 8 northbound and southbound is reduced to two lanes at the Central Interchange through late May 2025.
Interstate 76 pavement and bridge repairs, Akron & Tallmadge
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Friday evening, May 9 at 6 p.m., the ramp from SR 532 to I-76 eastbound will be closed through Monday morning, May 12, at 5 a.m. for pavement repairs. The detour will be I-76 west to Gilchrist Rd. to I-76 east.
Interstate 77 noise wall installation, Akron
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Friday, May 9, and continuing through Friday, May 16, the ramp from I-77 south to Wilbeth Rd. will be closed daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. A detour will be posted.
CONTINUING IMPACT – I-77 northbound between Waterloo Rd. and Lovers Lane has various lane restrictions for noise wall installation. Estimated completion, late September 2025.
Interstate 77 widening, Village of Richfield; Bath & Richfield Townships
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Monday, May 19, the following ramps will be closed:
• The ramp from I-77 south to Wheatley Rd. will be closed through mid-August. The detour will be I-77 south to Ghent Rd. to I-77 north to Wheatley Rd.
• The ramp from Wheatley Rd. to I-77 south will be closed through mid-August. The detour will be Wheatley Rd. to Brecksville Rd. to Ghent Rd. to I-77 south.
• The ramp from I-77 north to SR 21/Brecksville Rd. will be closed through mid-July. The detour will be I-77 north to I-80/Ohio Turnpike ramp to Brecksville Rd.
CONTINUING IMPACT – The following ramps are closed through mid-May for pavement reconstruction:
• I-77 northbound to Wheatley Rd. The detour is I-77 northbound to the Ohio Turnpike exit to Brecksville Rd. to Wheatley Rd.
• Wheatley Rd. to I-77 northbound. The detour for I-77 northbound is Wheatley Rd. to Brecksville Rd. to the Turnpike entrance ramp to I-77 northbound. The detour for I-271 is Wheatley Rd. to Brecksville Rd. to SR 303 to I-271.
CONTINUING IMPACT –The ramp from SR 21 southbound to I-77 southbound is closed through late July. The detour is SR 21 southbound to Wheatley Rd. to I-77 southbound.
CONTINUING IMPACT – I-77 between Everett Rd. and I-80/Ohio Turnpike has various lane restrictions.

Interstate 77 microsurfacing, Akron & Fairlawn; Copley Township
I-77 between Ridgewood Rd. and just south of SR 18 has various nightly lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for microsurfacing. Estimated completion, June 2025.
State Route 8 bridge replacement, Akron
SR 8 northbound and southbound between Glenwood Ave. and Perkins St. has occasional lane restrictions and ongoing ramp restrictions. Estimated completion, summer 2028.
State Route 8 resurfacing, Akron & Cuyahoga Falls
SR 8 between Tallmadge Ave. and Graham Rd. has various nightly lane restrictions for pavement repairs and resurfacing. Estimated completion, late October 2025.
State Route 8 resurfacing, City of Macedonia, Village of Boston Heights & Northfield Center Township
SR 8 from just south of Twinsburg Rd. to just north of I-271 has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, mid-September 2025.
State Route 82 resurfacing, Twinsburg; Northfield Center, Sagamore Hills & Twinsburg Townships
SR 82 between the Cuyahoga County line and SR 8 and between Cannon Rd. and the Portage County line has various lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, late September 2025.
State Route 532 railroad crossing repairs
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Monday, May 12 and continuing through Friday, May 17, SR 532 just north of Mogadore Rd. will be closed for railroad crossing repairs performed by Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad. The detour will be SR 532 to US 224 to SR 43 to I-76 to SR 532.
Wooster Rd. West reconstruction, Barberton
Wooster Rd. eastbound is closed through late summer 2025. The detour is 31st to Norton Ave. to Wooster Rd. Estimated completion, September 2025.
Trumbull County
SR 46/82 Diverging Diamond Interchange Construction Construction continues on Interstate 80 in Hubbard Township
I-80 eastbound just west of the Pennsylvania State line is reduced to one lane for a pavement replacement project being overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Motorists should expect delays in this area.
State Route 5 lighting improvement, Bazetta, Champion & Warren Townships
The following interchanges will have various lane restrictions for lighting installation:
• SR 5/82 at US 422
• SR 5/82 at Perkins Jones Rd.
• SR 5/82 at Elm Rd.
Estimated completion, late August 2025.
State Route 11 resurfacing, Vienna Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Friday evening, May 9, at 6 p.m. the ramp from SR 11 south to King Graves Rd. will be closed through Saturday evening, May 10, at 6 p.m. The detour will be SR 11 south to SR 82 west to SR 46 north to King Graves Rd.
CONTINUING IMPACTS — SR 11 from just north of SR 82 to King Graves Rd. has various lane restrictions for resurfacing, Estimated completion, late September 2025.
State Route 46 bridge replacement, Bazetta Township
SR 46 just north of Cadwallader Sonk Rd. is closed through early June. The detour is SR 305 to SR 11 to SR 82. Estimated completion, late June 2024.
State Routes 46 & 82 Diverging Diamond Interchange, Howland Township
CONTINUING IMPACT – The following ramp closures and lane restriction are in place through late spring 2025:
•   The ramp from SR 82 eastbound to SR 46 northbound is closed. The detour is SR 82 east to SR 193 to SR 82 west to SR 46.
•   The ramp from SR 46 south to SR 82 east is closed. The detour is SR 82 west to Elm Rd. to SR 82 east.
•   State Route 46 between Market St. and US 422 has various daily lane restrictions.
Estimated completion, fall 2026.
