The Shoppes at Parma will soon welcome a new culinary addition as Masala Monsoon prepares to open at 7401 W. Ridgewood Drive, the former location of Antonio’s Pizza and Spaghetti.
The restaurant’s website confirms they are “COMING SOON!” to the Parma address and lists a contact number of 440-558-2970 for interested diners.
This opening marks a significant shift for the space, which until recently housed Antonio’s, a longtime Italian restaurant that had been a staple in the Parma community. Antonio’s recently announced its permanent closure at this location, thanking customers “for All the Years of Supporting Antonios in Parma” through a message on their website.
While detailed information about Masala Monsoon’s menu and exact opening date has not yet been released, the restaurant appears poised to bring authentic Indian cuisine to an area already showing growing interest in diverse dining options.
The location at The Shoppes at Parma places the new restaurant in a busy retail center with significant foot traffic. According to their name and concept, diners can likely expect traditional Indian dishes featuring various masala spice blends in a vibrant atmosphere.
“This is exciting news for our community,” said Maria Sanchez, a Parma resident shopping at the center on Thursday. “I love Indian food and having it so close to home instead of driving to the east side will be wonderful.”
The addition of Masala Monsoon reflects a growing trend in the area, as Greater Cleveland’s South Asian population has been estimated at around 40,000, with many restaurants in the region seeing increased interest from diners seeking quality vegetarian options and diverse cuisine.
Local business owners in the shopping complex expressed optimism about the new addition. “Having diverse restaurant options helps bring in different customers,” said Tom Wilson, who operates a nearby store. “The more variety we have in The Shoppes, the better for everyone’s business.”
Masala Monsoon joins other Indian restaurants in the greater Parma area, including Cuisine of India in Parma Heights and Paradise Biryani Pointe, which specializes in Hyderabadi-style cuisine that goes beyond traditional North Indian fare to include Mumbai chaat, South Indian thalis, and East Indian desserts.
