The Stow Police Department has been active over the past week, responding to a variety of incidents across the city. According to the weekly report log issued on May 13, officers made multiple arrests and launched several investigations ranging from theft to drug possession.
Several arrests were made at a Hudson Drive location for shoplifting, with incidents reported on May 6 and 9. “Our officers have been monitoring retail locations closely due to the recent increase in shoplifting cases,” said a department spokesperson.
Criminal damage incidents at a Darrow Road address led to two arrests on May 6 and 7. These cases appear to be separate incidents occurring within just a few hours of each other.
A drug arrest was made on May 6 when officers stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Fishcreek Road and Call Road, resulting in a marijuana possession charge.
In a more serious drug case, an individual was arrested on May 10 for possession of a Schedule I or II substance. This arrest took place on a roadway in Stow and was marked as closed following the arrest.
Officers responded to a Graham Road business on May 7, where a suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct involving “offensive gesture or noise.” Another disorderly conduct case involving intoxication was reported on Echo Valley Drive on May 9, also resulting in an arrest.
On May 11, police made an arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI). The suspect faced additional charges including failure to control, weaving, and failure to maintain full attention.
A weapons violation led to an arrest on May 12 at a Graham Road location, with the suspect charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Several cases involving juveniles were reported, including tobacco-related offenses and contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Graham Road on May 8.
The department is investigating a child endangerment case reported on Bobwhite Trail on May 6. Details remain limited as the investigation continues.
Two domestic violence incidents were reported during the week, with prosecution refused in one case and the victim described as reluctant in the other.
Multiple telecommunications harassment reports were filed, including one that resulted in a warrant being issued for dissemination of images of another person.
The police department is also investigating a serious sex offense case involving obscenity with a minor, which was reported in January but appears in the current report log.
