CVS Robbery Suspect Sought By Mentor Police

On May 13, 2025, at 10:53 AM, the Mentor Police Department responded to a robbery call at the CVS Pharmacy located at 9040 Mentor Avenue. According to preliminary investigation, an unknown white male entered the store wearing khaki pants and a gray hoodie. The suspect approached a female cashier and passed a note demanding money.

The suspect then pointed to his waistband, indicating he might have a weapon, although no gun was actually displayed. After the cashier complied, the man grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Hopkins Road.

Responding officers quickly established a perimeter around the area and conducted an extensive search utilizing both K-9 units and drone technology. As a precautionary measure, nearby educational institutions including Mentor Memorial Junior High and Hopkins Elementary were placed under a temporary “shelter in place” status. This protocol allowed normal activities to continue inside the buildings while restricting entry and exit.

Mentor Police officers stationed inside these schools were immediately notified of the situation. Despite the comprehensive search efforts, the suspect has not yet been apprehended and remains at large.

The Mentor Police Department has released surveillance images of the suspect and is asking for public assistance in identifying him. Anyone with information regarding this incident or who may recognize the suspect is urged to contact Officer Zevnik at 440-974-5789, referencing case number 25-13288.

This investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities advise the public not to approach the suspect if spotted, but to immediately contact law enforcement.
