New Businesses Set to Boost Conneaut’s Economy

Dunkin' and Circle K Opening in Strategic Locations

Conneaut residents will soon have new dining and shopping options as both Dunkin’ and Circle K prepare to open new locations in the city.

The new Dunkin’ is currently under construction at the Truck World at 780 Route 7, just off Interstate 90. According to information from the Conneaut city administration, the coffee and donut chain is expected to open in early summer 2025.

Plans for the Dunkin’ location were approved last summer, but construction has only recently begun. City officials have expressed enthusiasm about seeing the project move forward after the initial approval.

Originally, the plan called for Dunkin’ and Taco Bell to open together at the location, but Taco Bell ultimately moved to Gateway Avenue, where it opened last December.

Meanwhile, a new Circle K convenience store will be moving into 364 Main St., the former location of Rite Aid which closed last year. While there is no scheduled opening date for the Circle K, city officials have indicated that the project is still in its early stages.

The former Rite Aid building will be repurposed for the new Circle K, and city officials have been working with the company to address concerns from nearby residents. Discussions have included adding green space where there is currently asphalt and potentially installing fencing for neighboring properties.

City leaders view both new businesses as valuable additions to Conneaut’s commercial landscape. The developments are seen as beneficial for all parties involved, including the businesses and the city itself.

The strategic locations—one near the interstate for travelers and one in the heart of the city—are expected to serve both visitors and local residents, potentially increasing foot traffic to other Conneaut businesses.
