CLEVELAND, OK – Two juveniles were taken into custody Thursday evening after a handgun incident at the Cleveland Municipal Pool that resulted in the recovery of two 9mm weapons.
Chief Stout of the Cleveland Police Department responded to the pool shortly after 4 p.m. following reports that a juvenile was in possession of a handgun and had allegedly threatened another juvenile.
The chief made contact with two individuals upon arrival. During the encounter, an altercation occurred and one person fled the scene. Both individuals were later located and found to be in possession of the weapons.
The juveniles were transported to a juvenile detention facility. The incident remains under investigation.
Police have not released further details due to the involvement of minors. The Cleveland Police Department thanked community members who reported the incident promptly and assisted in ensuring a swift response.
