Local Teams Advance to State Lacrosse Semifinals

ortheast Ohio schools compete for spots in championship games at Historic Crew Stadium

Four Northeast Ohio lacrosse teams will battle for state championship berths this week as the OHSAA state tournament semifinals get underway Tuesday and Wednesday.

Division II Girls Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown faces Bay Village Bay Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Copley High School in a matchup of local powers. The winner advances to Saturday’s state championship at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus at 4 p.m.

Division II Boys Wooster takes on Rocky River Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Richfield Joe Pappano Stadium. The victor will play for the state title Sunday at 4 p.m. at Historic Crew Stadium.

Division I Boys Cleveland St. Ignatius battles Dublin Jerome Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ashland University, with the winner earning a spot in Sunday’s 1 p.m. championship game.

Hudson’s girls Division I team also remains alive, facing Powell Olentangy Liberty Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Ashland University for a chance to play in Saturday’s 1 p.m. state final.

The NFHS Network will stream all championship games live from Historic Crew Stadium. Dwight Burgess and Angelica Gero will call the girls finals Saturday, while Todd Bell and Todd Bauer handle the boys championships Sunday.
