OHSAA Releases 2025-26 Winter Sports Divisions

Full breakdown of 2025-26 Ohio high school winter sports divisions for basketball, wrestling, swimming, bowling, gymnastics, ice hockey, and girls wrestling

The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has officially released its divisional breakdowns for the upcoming 2025-26 winter sports season. While most sports will remain in the same divisions as last year, girls and boys basketball divisions have been updated based on the OHSAA’s competitive balance process.

Updated OHSAA Basketball Divisions for 2025-26

Each year, girls and boys basketball divisions are recalculated to reflect changes in enrollment and competitive balance data. This annual adjustment aims to ensure fair competition by considering factors beyond just school size, such as the influence of transfers and roster composition.

Winter Sports Divisions Remain Steady for Wrestling, Swimming, Bowling

For other winter sports, divisions remain unchanged from the 2024-25 season. These sports operate on a two-year enrollment cycle and are not affected by competitive balance adjustments:

Additionally, gymnastics, ice hockey, and girls wrestling continue with a single-division format for all participating schools.
