Work Van Burglary Nets Thousands in Tools

Theft from Auto – June 20

A resident reported someone broke into his work van parked outside his apartment on Eaton Ridge Drive. The burglary occurred between June 19-20 and resulted in the theft of thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment.

Stolen items included Milwaukee power tools, HVAC equipment, and electrical supplies valued at approximately $13,000. The stolen property included an impact drill, battery chargers, a recovery machine, vacuum pump, refrigerant tanks, and various hand tools.

The victim discovered the theft when he went to use his van for work.

Domestic Violence

Man Arrested in Domestic Incident

Domestic Violence/Strangulation – June 21

Officers arrested a 41-year-old Broadview Heights man on charges of domestic violence and strangulation following an incident on Fleetwood Drive.

The incident involved three people and resulted in charges for domestic violence and creating substantial risk of physical harm through strangulation. A blunt object was reportedly used during the incident.

The arrest was made after officers responded to the domestic violence call at the residential home.

OVI/Traffic

Macedonia Man Arrested for OVI

Operating Vehicle Impaired – June 21

A Macedonia man was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop on North Boyden Road for driving without nighttime lights.

The 28-year-old driver had a passenger from Northfield in the vehicle. The arrest included charges for OVI with a breath test showing alcohol content between .08% and .17%, as well as the lighting violation.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours and the vehicle was towed.

Threatening Statements Reported

Threats – June 17

Officers responded to Southridge Road for a report of threatening statements between two individuals. The incident was reported as threats and involved a complainant and another party.

No arrests were made in connection with the threatening statements.

Fraud

Fraud Investigation Ongoing

Fraud – June 22

Officers took a fraud report on Cyrus Lane. The incident is under investigation with a victim from the area and an occupant from Brecksville identified in the report.

Details of the fraud were not disclosed pending the ongoing investigation.

Officers handled two separate civil matters involving personal property and document disputes. One incident on Greenwood Parkway involved a multiple dwelling, while another on South Boyden Road required police escort services.

Both matters were resolved through police mediation without criminal charges.
