CLEVELAND, OH (June 26, 2025) – Benjamin Rose and Senior Citizen Resources (SCR) are excited to announce a merger that will expand and strengthen services for older adults in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood. Beginning July 1, 2025, SCR will officially become part of Benjamin Rose, and its senior center will be renamed the Rose Centers for Aging Well in Old Brooklyn.
This strategic partnership reflects both organizations’ deep commitment to supporting older adults with high-quality, accessible programs that promote independence and dignity. By combining resources and expertise, the merger aims to sustain and grow essential services while introducing new innovations to meet evolving community needs.
“Senior Citizens Resources has been a vital part of the Old Brooklyn community for decades,” said Orion Bell, President and CEO of Benjamin Rose. “We are honored to carry its legacy forward as part of the Benjamin Rose family.”
As rising costs and shifting funding landscapes challenge local service providers, this merger ensures continued stability for key programs—including home-delivered meals, social activities, and wellness initiatives. The popular Home Delivered Meals program will continue uninterrupted under the Benjamin Rose Meals on Wheels name, with only minor route adjustments to improve efficiency.
Transportation services previously offered by SCR will transition to Senior Transportation Connection (STC), a trusted partner of Benjamin Rose. STC provides safe, door-to-door rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, senior center programs, and more.
A dedicated transition team is overseeing the merger to ensure clear communication, uninterrupted services, and a smooth experience for all participants.
“We know change can raise questions, but our goal is to reassure the community: our commitment to older adults remains unwavering,” said Liz Hernandez, Executive Director of SCR. “This partnership allows us to enhance what we do best—supporting the well-being of our seniors—while building on years of trusted service.”
