Stow Police Reports: Assault, Domestic Incidents and Animal Violations

Retail theft arrests span multiple locations

August 3-11 – Stow Police made several shoplifting arrests at area businesses during the week.

Officers arrested a suspect August 3 for shoplifting on Kent Road. Additional shoplifting arrests occurred August 6 and 7 at Hudson Drive locations, with one case also involving criminal trespass charges.

Police made another shoplifting arrest August 8 at a Hudson Drive business and investigated criminal damage at the same location. An unauthorized vehicle use case was reported August 9 on Hidden Lake Drive.

August 11 brought theft reports on Hudson Drive and Fishcreek Road.

Two fraud cases were investigated during the week. Police responded August 7 to identity fraud on Hummingbird Trail involving theft and misuse of personal information. A similar identity fraud case was reported August 11 on Osage Street.

Assault and domestic incidents reported

August 6-11 – Officers responded to several violent incidents throughout the week.

Police made a juvenile arrest August 6 on Seneca Street involving domestic violence and charges of knowingly causing physical harm. The case also included unruly behavior charges.

A simple assault was reported August 6 on L’Ermitage Place. August 7 brought a domestic violence incident on Vira Road.

Officers responded to two assault cases August 8, including an incident on Stow Road involving knowingly harming a victim. A menacing case on Allen Road was reported August 11.

Animal violations result in citations

August 5-7 – Officers handled multiple animal-related calls during the week.

Police made arrests August 5 for animal violations on Sanford Avenue and Darrow Road, including possession of crowing roosters, birds and dogs running at large.

An animal bite was reported August 5 on Orchard Drive. Additional loose dog reports came from North Santom Road August 5 and Pond Court August 7.

A K-9 unit responded August 5 to Darrow Road.

Impaired driving arrests made

August 9-10 – Police made multiple impaired driving arrests over the weekend.

Officers arrested a driver August 9 on Iona Avenue and Graham Road for driving under the influence, drug paraphernalia possession and possession of schedule I or II substances.

A disorderly conduct case involving intoxication occurred August 10 on Kent Road. Police also arrested a driver for OVI with prior convictions within 20 years.

Additional incidents reported

August 6-11 – Other cases included public indecency August 6, criminal trespass incidents August 7-8, juvenile complaints and personnel matters.

Officers assisted other agencies August 7 at Darrow Road and Stoney Hill Drive in Hudson.
