Northfield Village Police Reports: Dog Attack, Robbery, Criminal Damage Cases

Traffic Stop Leads to OVI Arrest

A Northfield Village police officer conducting routine patrol on August 27 stopped a white Mercedes SUV on Northfield Road for erratic driving behavior. The driver failed field sobriety tests and registered a .114 blood alcohol content. She was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, prohibited BAC, and use of high beams. The driver was released to her husband with a municipal court date.

Dog Attack Injures Two on Coventry Drive

Police responded to Coventry Drive on August 24 after reports of a dog attack that left a woman on the ground and bit a man. Officers separated the dogs when they arrived and called Northfield Village Fire Department to evaluate both victims. Neither person required transport to a hospital and declined to press charges. The owner of the attacking dog was cited for dog at large.

Robbery Investigation Ongoing

A juvenile was the victim of a street robbery on Canter Lane on August 26. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived. Police contacted the victim’s mother, who said she would decide whether to pursue charges after returning home. The case remains under investigation with pending charges for robbery.

Vandalism at MGM Casino Leads to Warrant

A man reported his vehicle was vandalized while parked at MGM casino on August 25. After a brief investigation, police identified a female suspect who will be charged with criminal damaging. A warrant will be issued if she does not turn herself in to authorities.

Other Incidents

Police conducted a welfare check on Roosevelt Avenue on August 22 after reports of a possible domestic situation between a grandmother and grandson. The grandson reported his grandmother had fallen and couldn’t get up. Fire department medics evaluated her but she declined transport and charges.

A woman reported an incident involving her child at daycare on August 25. The initial report was forwarded to the detective bureau for investigation.

Officers located a stolen U-Haul truck at the Sunset Motel on Northfield Road on August 28. The vehicle was impounded and returned to the rental company with no charges filed through Northfield Village Police Department.
