Domestic Violence
August 23 Keion Walker of Ravenna was arrested for domestic violence after assaulting the mother of his two children. Officers conducted a traffic stop after Walker left the scene of the domestic incident. Investigation revealed Walker had punched the victim in the mouth, causing visible injury, and struck her multiple times in the stomach area. Walker was processed and transported to the Portage County Justice Center for incarceration.
Major Theft
August 24 Tralisha Hall of Akron was arrested for theft at Giant Eagle after stealing merchandise worth $657.29. Hall passed all points of sale twice with multiple carts of food and household items, placing everything in her vehicle before leaving the property. All stolen items were recovered and returned to the store. Hall was also found to have multiple outstanding warrants and was issued a personal recognizance bond with a court appearance scheduled for August 25.
Assault
August 29 A 14-year-old Ravenna male was charged with assault following an incident at the Ravenna-Kent football game on August 22. The juvenile bypassed rope barriers separating the student section from band members and struck another student in the face, causing a swollen left cheek and scratch under the eye. School principals reported the incident to police. The juvenile admitted to the assault, stating “I beat his ass” multiple times. A summons will be filed with Portage County Juvenile Detention Center.
Drug-Related Arrests
August 29 Jake Buck of Kent was arrested for drug possession following a traffic stop. A consent search of Buck’s vehicle revealed narcotics, which will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing. Buck was charged with possession of drugs and transported to the Portage County Justice Center.
Phenina Sanders of Kent was arrested on felony drug possession charges during the same traffic stop as a passenger. Sanders was found with a glass pipe containing residue and a metal spoon with white residue that field-tested positive for cocaine. She was charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and transported to the Portage County Justice Center.
Public Order Violations
August 28 Maynard Bartholdi, a homeless man from Ravenna, was cited for disorderly conduct after confronting a store manager. Officers responded to reports of a male acting disorderly at a business. Bartholdi admitted to yelling at the store manager, getting in her face, and reaching toward her during an argument. He was issued a citation and advised of his court date.
Winston Davis of Cleveland was arrested for violating a temporary protection order. On August 27, Davis called and texted a victim who had an active protection order against him. Officers confirmed the phone number belonged to Davis, which had been on file with the department since 2024.
Warrant Arrests
Multiple individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants during the reporting period:
August 30 Rodney Wright of Kent was arrested during a traffic stop when officers discovered he had an active Ravenna Police warrant. Wright was transported to the Portage County Justice Center.
August 29 Nathan Crew of Euclid was arrested by Streetsboro Police on a Ravenna Police warrant. Ravenna officers took custody from Streetsboro PD and transported Crew to the Portage County Justice Center.
Demonte Booze of Akron was arrested during a traffic stop when a warrant check revealed he had an active Adult Parole warrant. Booze was detained as a passenger and transported to the Portage County Justice Center after the warrant was confirmed.
August 27 Chester Starcher of Newton Falls was arrested after officers found he had two active warrants. Officer Wise observed Starcher as a passenger in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Starcher was taken into custody and transported to the Justice Center due to Portage County Sheriff’s Office manpower constraints.
August 25 Amanda Hastie of Akron was arrested on a felony warrant while walking down the road. Officers ran her information through LEADS and discovered the active Portage County Sheriff’s Office warrant. She was turned over to Sheriff’s deputies who responded to the scene.
Justin Byrd of Macedonia was arrested by the Portage County Sheriff’s Office on a Ravenna Police warrant. A copy of the warrant was faxed to the Sheriff’s Office.
August 24 Louisa Longmire of Ravenna was arrested during a traffic stop for failing to stop prior to crosswalks. Officers discovered Longmire had an active Ravenna Police warrant and that her driver’s license was suspended.
