Impaired Driver Arrested After Late-Night Traffic Stop
A motorist was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence following a traffic stop Tuesday night on Sagamore Road near State Route 8.
Police pulled over the driver around 10:55 p.m. for speeding when an officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and observed other signs of impairment. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for OVI.
A breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of .119, significantly above Ohio’s legal limit of .08. The driver was released with a court date in Stow Municipal Court and cited for OVI, prohibited blood alcohol content and speeding.
Missing Teen Located in Business Parking Lot
A 19-year-old male reported missing was found safe Monday afternoon in the HYKO business parking lot on Meadow Lane.
The teen had been entered as a missing person through Aurora Police Department when witnesses reported a possible sighting in Northfield Village around 3:10 p.m. Officers located the young man in the back of his father’s pickup truck parked in the lot.
Northfield Village Fire Department treated the teen at the scene before transporting him to Cleveland Clinic in Twinsburg for additional medical care.
Theft Cases Under Investigation
Police are investigating the theft of MGM voucher tickets reported Tuesday morning. The victim filed a walk-in complaint around 11:13 a.m., and officers have identified a suspect in the case.
In a separate incident, a rental car company reported an overdue vehicle Tuesday morning. The matter was resolved the same day when the car was returned to the Northfield Road business.
Additional Incidents
Officers responded to a domestic violence call Friday evening on McKinley Drive, interviewing the involved parties and investigating the reported incident.
