North Coast Jiu-Jitsu Club Opens New Facility in Northfield Village

Family-run academy celebrates grand opening with community self-defense class

North Coast Jiu-Jitsu Club will host a grand opening celebration for its new facility Saturday, September 27 from 10-11 a.m. at Northfield Plaza.

The family-owned martial arts academy, run by the Hido family, moved to the expanded 6,000-square-foot space in June. The facility features a 45-by-36-foot main training area, a second large training room, pro shop and comfortable seating area for parents with WiFi and tables.

The grand opening includes a free community self-defense class open to all ages with no experience required. The academy specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, focusing on control techniques rather than striking, making students “bully-proof” according to their philosophy.

Paul Hido and his sons PJ and Kyle each have more than 20 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and hold black belts under respected instructor Pedro Sauer. They founded North Coast Jiu-Jitsu Club in 2018.

The academy offers classes for students ages 5 to 80 and emphasizes building confidence, physical fitness and self-defense skills through what they call the world’s fastest-growing martial art.

A grand opening special offers six weeks of unlimited classes plus a uniform for $99, normally valued at $250.

North Coast Jiu-Jitsu Club is located at Northfield Road in Northfield. For more information, call 330-406-6626 or visit northcoastbjj.com.
